are the max HP figures affected a lot by the rev? aka... is it going to hurt to get to 300hp on a rev2 engine/setup?

You'd be better off converting the engine to Rev 3 spec and a CT20b turbo.

Ecu/wiring/turbo/AFM delete/injectors etc etc.

To convert rev 2 turbo to rev 3 turbo, you'll need:

Rev3 Turbo ECU
ct20B turbo
Engine Wiring loom
4 wire oxygen sensor
MAP sensor
MAT sensor
Ignitor
Water Temp sensor
IAT sensor
Injectors
Knock sensor
Rev 3 Turbo alternator

Knock sensor and alternator can be reused off your car, but you'll need to re-use your plugs on the rev 3 loom.

Around £350-£400 for the conversion bits and £250+ for a used good condition CT20b.

Although as you already have an emanage, you could easily just upgrade the injectors to rev3 540cc's, raise the boost cut and have the same performance with much less hassle than converting to rev3+ ECU/loom etc

Obviously the turbo upgrade is still desirable/required.. but the electronics side of things is covered.

sounds like an easier route for sure rob.....a way to go yet though.

is there no common alternative turbo? or it one of those. c20b or go fill custom setup.

Basically it is difficult to achieve 300bhp on a standard Rev2, there were major changes to the Rev3 including a new turbo which manages 300. There are other factors involved. If you are chasing numbers you're better off switching to a rev3 engine

CT20b Turbo from Rev 3 / Manual boost controller cranked to 18 PSI / 550cc injectors / metal headgasket (Rumoured unopened Rev2's will hold out but potential to fail) / AFM delete + rev 3 ECU / bigger intercooler / decat + exhaust.

That's what required to hit around 300bhp on a rev 2 Turbo. Rev 3's are becoming very sought after so I wish you luck if you do a swap but if you're on a budget and don't mind upgrading slowly over time then upgrade incrementally.

Some would argue togo standalone ECU / mapped and upgrading to a newer turbo / bigger injectors but depends on budget and what deals you can snag on what was mentioned.

The cars going to have a new headgasket regardless. ive read rev3 OEM metal headgasket is the one to go for. that correct?

ive got a greddy e-manage ready to plug into the car, so that's one item off the list. injectors arnt too expensive, neither intercooler. I guess its just the turbo setup. whats ideal max power from the c26? cars 225 stock isn't it?

I've read they hold up to 250hp at 15psi safely. Also the power curve / boost drops off after 5,500rpm down to 12psi where as the CT20b holds till redline.

Options include rebuild and upgrade to CT27 or second hand CT20b. If budget isn't an issue then the worlds your oyster for a new aftermarket which could take you past 300bhp when mapped with bigger injectors etc.

I personally went for a CT20b. *There's always a gamble with going second hand unless recently rebuilt with paperwork from a reputable company.

much better condition than I remembered.

gave it a quick 5 minute wash, needs a good detail when I get chance. then I can get to work on cleaning the inside and inspecting the rust.

I removed the sponge from behind the drivers seatbelt and the sponge seems relatively clean.

what you guys think...not bad for free :-)[/img]

cheers guys. passes the 10ft test and looks good on camera but it needs a good clay and machine polish. lacquer is faded a bit.

insides going to have a good clean too. somehow the seats and carpet are all bone dry so my initial inspection of the tbar seals was a good one.

sills look even better than my first inspections. just need to get under it tomorrow if i get time.

very excited to get working on it now its home :-)

1st light pass on rear quarter with polisher:

Arty shot showing off some nice reflection:

a side by side. door hasn't been touched. quite a difference:
Image

removed seats and theyre currently in sun drying out as much as possible. then going in neighbours garage with a heater on them for a while.
Image

As you can see, car needs a good vac/steam clean inside I think. and a bloody good air freshner :P

Image

so plan later today is finish polishing entire car, may do a 2nd/3rd pass another day.

Also trying to borrow a battery to see if I can check electrical systems work/starter isn't jammed etc.

then I plan to drop oil/fuel (fuel if possible?), and then onto headgasket.

any recommendations for headgasket? I know to use the MK3 metal one from above. just wondering if theres any note on if I should replace head studs etc... and torque settings (I know mk3 supras always get torqued more than factory recommendations)...

Cheers for looking!
