and yet it looks no better than an £800 respray
all well and good if you want to spend that amount on a 20 year old car, most of us don't really have £2500 to spunk on a paint job.
and for those that do, well.....

Re: total car respray
well to add some fun in to this i paid £87 for my respray
only because i work at the place and only had to pay for materials,
however tbh sheppy's car looks just as good as yours red
and straight 2k black is a damn site easier paint than a 3 stage pearl to strip a car like that and paint in a 3 stage pearl you would be looking at almost £5000
a £2500 paint job is still a cheap paint job in fairness
we restored a e-type jag and charged the guy £8700
this was it finished
i dont mean to sound funny but if your the kind of person who goes to a place hands over a load of money and says i want this, then you dont really know anything about it, so its kinda a waste of time trying to argue over it
at the same time we done my mates r33 skyline added gtr quarter panels done a lot of welding and bodywork as it was rotten and charged him £650
and the finish is no different from the jag in all fairness and that was a full colour change to bmw arctic grey metallic from white, which was what you call a masked up job, but again if you use fine line tape first before masking you get a nice tight finish and you can also wire the rubbers so the paint gets behind rather than a dead flaky end
TO SHOW IT WASNT BODGED EITHER IT WAS WELDED UP
So the point im trying to make is not everyone is in it to make a rediculous profit and you can get good jobs for sub £1000 if you find somewere that takes there time and does a good job of prep work

You can tell that by looking at a picture of the shell, taken with an iphone4s and uploaded onto a car forum?

im currently looking for a colour for my mr2 as dont think i want to keep it super red as its sooooo boring lol
ive been looking at the blue the new seat's come in also the new mazda 2 pearl blue
and also a colour im really liking at the minute is a metallic mint green which is this

ohhhh, that's a bold move man, it's very tricky choosing for an mr2 as they can end up looking naff, I was very specific about the liquid yellow when doing mine, if it wasn't that colour it'd have been a full colour change, probably some kind of red. I've seen an orange mr2 and it was hideous, again with green, I personally didn't think it worked, I think Toyota did well with the factory colours at the time, as for modern colours, renault are doing some pretty narly stuff just now
EDIT: just caught your last post as I replied, that blue would work very well I think!!!
Re: total car respray
yea i agree they can look very very tacky if you get it wrong
was going to opt for safe white lol but i done that with my rev2 went from black to ford frozen white and dont really want to repeat that
so its all a bit up in the air lol i am swaying more towards the blue myself tbh
