though I suppose you need a flat / sealed floor too. Worthwhile doing I think. Especially if you could make the bonnet mod look... Not xxxx. I hate to admit it but maybe something like Neil's vented bonnet would work.

I'm not a massive fan of the border bonnet but I can see how it would have an effect, you'd have to cut a hole in the front of the frunk for this to work I think, :-k

I am not too fussed about what it looks like.. i am going for the cut and scoop the bonnet making my own
As for the flat floor the way the mr2 is desgned would be very hard to get a flat floor..

It'd be an awful location if it's placed in the flow of hot air coming off the engine radiator!

that's how the border bumper/bonnet work together :thumleft:

ONLY when you have the border radiator relocation kit which requires the frunk wall cut as well.

otherwise the bumper and bonnet are just for aesthetics.

I was actually meaning a hole in the floor of the frunk, most likely with some sort of metal "scoops" under the car to direct air up through the pre-rad, however, it's be a lot of work :(

I'm not sure our radiators are at quiet such an extreme angle! but yes, AFAIK they do need to be angled differently to work (obv. with all the cutting involved too)

For those of you who have seen these risers people are fitting to the rev5 blade... CFD says it's a waste of time! Makes you wonder whether the TRD wing is actually better or worse for the car, aerodynamically?

yeh its definitely not, ha.
having recently changed my rad and looking at the area.

aside from blocking the floor, there would have to be some sort of custom slope sheet before the firewall otherwise the air wont get easily directed up and out.
pretty much something identical to what the photo shows as the rads "previous" location.

to be honest, without going into the chassis behind the bumper, or making the rad alot shorter, i cant see how you would be able to tilt the rad forward much if at all! theres only a couple of inchs of room to tilt it forward!

unless of course you custom made some lower supports for the rad further towards the center of the car to allow more tilt at the top before hitting the chassis.

Yeah man

Surely this needs some sort of scoop inside the bonnet to force the air up..

Agreed! :thumleft:

I think they came out of Australia, where owners apparently put them on for track days! I'm pretty unconvinced...

If you look at this plot:

If you can get a wing into the faster moving air at roof height, maybe ?

Is this what you would call a big gay wing :) ?

Everyone will soon want a BGW

It shows that Toyota did do things for a reason, not just make the car look better.
