Doubtful as supercharger shafts fit into an MR2 box ... I have a set on the shelf here so could double check for you though Peter.

OK, lots of input - thanks guys :thumleft:

I'll start answering all the different ideas by editing this post. Think i'll go put the kettle on first..

Not Rav4 as they have a transfer box and this diff definitly is 2WD box only.

Nope, the MR2 Turbo shafts fit into the E351 box, therefore can't use this diff.

I assume so. In theory, it should be on that list.

Was talking to MonkeyWrench Racing in the USA, and we devised a plan:

To identify all the inner shafts with the same diameter, simply check the part number of the circlip on the end of Turbo N/S shaft, and then cross reference that part number against all the models listed.

What we do know is:

it is from a transverse gearbox, 2WD, and either the E153 gearbox, OR different gearbox that takes exact same diff. Inner shafts are same diameter and same spline count as MR2 Turbo.

If you look at the drawings i have made, the length of the stubs needed has been reversed. The LHS LSD stub is too long by about 20mm. The RHS stub fits, but is too short, he only engages about 5mm of splines.

As though the LSD has been installed the wrong way round. But obviously that is impossible.

Could it have been taken apart and the internal section refitted 180 deg the wrong way round?

Yes, I had noticed that. Strange indeed!

Lexus RX / Toyota Harrier... cos while googling earlier I came across posts referring to then using the MR2 diff but having drive shaft fitment issues, particularly length.

Does that look possible Bob?

Could that not be a hilux or solara diff as they both fit e153 and are used on the odd v6 conversion...

On a side note - why are we presuming that this is a Toyota diff, and not one from elsewhere that fits?

Would have been my guess too except the rev 1 turbo has the same box so it would in theory fit. There is also an LSD for the NA mk1 too but rare. Different box but similar?

Okay guys many thanks for all your helpful suggestions, when we were looking at this we looked at all of the cars already mentioned ( including a limited edition run of trd hiluxe's in the states) In essence the diff fits the casings, the speedo drive lines up BUT the problem is that the internals for the drive shafts are 180 degrees out - I.E. it needs the nearside shorter in total length to go to the offside and the longer offside shaft(total length) to go to the nearside - if you put a set of rev2+ turbo shafts in it this way around the splined and scroll areas seem to fit perfectly.
Again thanks for every ones input.
