Yeah Jim's right, UK models were all T-Bar or Moonroof. No Tintops.

I havent commented much as I am really in-experienced with cars let alone MR2s!

The kit fitted well - didn't seem off to me but my caveat is that I've not seen a Tom's (replica or other) to know what constitutes 'good' fitment.

It was sold as a genuine tom's kit so you should have no probs on that front. The front bumper needs a tiny bit of work as there is about a 50pence size of lacquer peel on the drivers side (by the lights) and needs a small patch up to some minor damage on the passenger side of the front bumper.

A bit of scuffing to the passenger sideskirt but the car was kitted in Japan
so its in very good nick overall for however long the kit has beend on.

Interior is imaculate. Carpet looks brand new and the 'solid' black colour of the trim further illustrates this.

It's got Japanese paperwork but unfortunately no auction grade sheet.

Drive was good. Gear changes fine, clutch good, spool up fine.

Tyres are brand new, even heat to all four after a run.

Green coolant - assume thats aftermarket/non-toyota brand.

Re-trimmed seats are really nice better than the pic showed on eBay.

I can't really talk to much about the engine as I don't really know what i'm looking for there!

The owner seems like a genuine guy. He's very accomodating and I wouldn't have a problem buying from him.

So why haven't I? Well, cos I'm stupid. I want a GT turbo: electric folding mirrors, alacantra trim and all the other trick parts, low, low, low mileage and stock. Will I find this. I'm begining to think not. But I can't help feeling I would still long for those stupid things that would make me happy.

I've only ever been in one other MR2 turbo (rev5) and that was a few years ago so you have take everything I write here as merely an indicator of noteworthy points.

Hope this helps. But as I said. I really am a noob when it comes to cars.

I really wouldnt hold out for a GT over GTS for the trim, folding mirrors, steering fogs. All can be retro fitted with ease and the fogs are useless.
Im pretty sure rev5 GTS had ABS as standard unlike earlier revs where it was an option. Not all GTs had the 'premium sound system' either. Ive had two GTs and they havent had it.

Allow for a couple of hundred to get the bodywork sorted.
That gold Newera one looks a minter, but still 3k overpriced in my opinion

Miguel (Newera) kept telling me to choose one of those two (the other is a rev4 lucerne silver) when I contacted him whilst I was over in Japan on holiday.

I couldn't live with that champagne gold and for that money I would expect it too meet all my requirements colour especially!

The NA is keeping me ticking over for now but I'm aware that I need to act soon before all the good ones go!

I did consider retro fitting everything to a GTS and it certainly is a consideration for me (when I think sensibly!).

Thanks for that Racer7 gives me a good idea of what it's like before I go to view it. There's a silver rev4 with a lot of mods up for sale at the minute too, I've seen it quite a bit on the forums. Hmmm decisions

I'm the opposite of you I'd prefer to have one without ABS, I don't like all the options as they just add weight.

No probs Rossi.

If there are other things about this car you want my opinion on feel free to ask.

I'm not a very good negotiator/businessman and almost make friends with people and gloss over the sale! The guy selling this does know about MR2s - he said he's owned a few in the past. Based on my experience talking with him he sounds legit. A long way from some other characters that I've gone to enquire with for MR2s in the past.

Personally I don't have enough driving experience to know whats what from a sports car. I've simply always viewed it as this is the top spec model so that is what I will get!

Do let me know, if you view it, what you think. When looking in the engine bay I really was clueless other than coolant and oil (which I didnt check as the engine had already been running for a bit). I really need to see a crap example, a good example, and an average example so I can benchmark for future viewings.

Good luck with it.
