Unequal pad wear means the caliper slides are probably sticking. Take the caliper off, clean the slides and regrease them

The thinner innner ones happens because of the "drag" of the sliders on OEM calipers, the stickier the sliders the more the difference!

What pads have you fitted? If you're going from EBC Reds to a standard road type pad you might catch yourself when they get hot out so take it easy until you know what they are able to withstand.

EDIT - DOH! Beaten to the sticking sliders comment!!! #-o

Thanks guys - yeah, one of the sliders on the worst affected side was stuck but the other was very free moving. The sliders on the other side were both stuck. All free moving now though!

I've gone for EBC greens front and back. Just been for a drive and the braking qualities are much improved with just the fronts replaced.

Changing the rears seems to be a more involved job though......any good articles out there?

I think Sir Paul of Woodsport has a big guide on here, the search is your friend.

One thing I'd add though is that the best things I ever found to wind back MR2 rear pistons is a pair of cheap pointy nose pliers, alternating with the pin-spanner from an angle grinder! :thumleft:

The backs are much newer than the fronts so I'm going to leave them and get full useage out of them. Thanks all!
