I noticed that the Speedo is a bit off ... when it shows 85 it goes with 75 ... how is this corrected?
It has on a 180mph Speedo ... it has been changed when it was imported from Japan back in 2006 I assume ... anyone had similar problem?

I will remove the dials as I need to replace two burned bulbs ... not all dials light up, is there anything I can do there to correct it?

Thats Steves old car and I knew the previous 2 owners as well (thought it may be from the remote mirror folding as we both did it) he did buy a turbo engine and box off me to fit in it.
I thought he had changed all the dash lights to blue led's, does the needle sit at 0 to start with ?

Yeap loads of receipts from Exeter ... :) :)
they do sit in 0 indeed. .. I have seen on the old paperwork that the speedo was a bit off ... but dont know if it was ever corrected.
The folding mirrors work still brilliantly
I must admit it still is a really really nice car! loving it to bits

The dials are white ... maybe someone else reverted it back to whie for some reason... but I will turn them to blue lol to match the rest of the car.

Also I do have my doubts regarding ABS and LSD ... dont know how to see them or find them on the car to verify existence ...
Even if they are not on I dont mind ... as the price was really good lol, but nice to know if they are on. (Thought ABS was standard on MR2's Rev3 ...)

No, it was an option. My old Rev 3 Turbo didn't have it, but my present one does. Easiest way to tell if you have it is to look for an extra wire going to your hubs as well as your brake lines.

Or you can look under the frunk at the brake fluid reservoir. The ABS one has a lot more stuff attached to it, whereas the non ABS is just the reservoir and the cylinder beneath it, with brake pipes going into it.

So there is no obvious way to tell with something written ABS on it ... like on some other cars haha
Will have a look on the signs of extra pipework

if you open get in and shut the door so the door light goes out then turn the key to full accessories but not start it all the warning lights should come on as a check, should see an ABS light on the dash then if you have ABS, sure this is right although |I don't have ABS but works for all the other warning lights.

As for your dash lights, may not be bulbs, mine doesn't spread well to the whole of each dial and I've tired new bulbs, standard and LED and new dials, still not great.

Car looks good BTW...

go on some loose sand. Get up to 15-20 mph and slam the brakes on - voila you will know if your ABS is there and/or if it works ;)

I'm sure ABS master cylinder has one connection vertical and one horizontal the non ABS has both horizontal.

I will try it on a safe open space with some sand ie a car park next to the beach lol.

But will check the master cylinder tomorrow... there is no ABS light on the dashboard.

To Do list ...
- Replace burned reverse light bulb.
- Restore leather interior
- Valet inside-out thoroughly
- Refit plastic guard from under the car after radiator pipes work was carried out by the dealer.
- Refit one mud flap .. where will I find a spare one the same I have no clue
- Fit clear glass pop up head lights, are they any better in brightness .. I just like the look of them.
- Install a decent amplifier / speaker setup ... headunit is OK.
- Install safely wheel nuts
- Paint front bumper as it has a bad mark (must be from a bird ... which was left and left the primer behind)
- Insulate better the T-Bar, although it is not leaking but when the door opens it drips a couple of drops.
- Install the correct fog light switch ... it seems to have a rear UK fog light switch instead a front fog light switch (beam lines go horizontal on the logo instead of pointing diagonal on the ground).
I would assume this model should have the steering fog lights (3way switch) hence why they don't work.) Rear fog light work with a 3rd party OEM switch next to it.)
- Replace all the spare wheel housing so it sits properly and secure instead of leaning on the battery it self.

It used to have a big stereo install (I supplied some of it) two 12"alpine subs off a big vibe amp and comps off another amp. It did have blue led's in the heater, window switches and the dash lights.
Strangely the first lad fitted a japspeed and said it slowed it down the next owner removed it then steve fitted another japspeed and said it slowed it down lol, then he bought the turbo engine and lsd box off me to go in it but never did.
It hasnt got an lsd and I dont think it had abs either.
Where abouts are you ?

I am in Kent close to Margate.
As I said I love the car so much so even if it does not have ABS and LSD I am not that bothered. I assume in the future if I want to install I just buy a gear box that has it and will do the trick?

Blue LED's in A/C heater controls and rear window. Dials are white 3 of the lights are working one is off. Will attempt repair one of these days.

This JapSpeed it has on it looks rather new. Or I think it is, but it has also been decatted. I do not know about it being slowed down as I don't have a before to compare. But for sure it is a fast car.

I had a massive radiator blow out a few months ago I guess... lol as it has brown remains in the engine bay and the front boot, my mechanic checked and it has all new pipework underneith and new radiator. It did not seem to have damaged/affected the engine in anyway and does not burn oil.

So outcome is good ... one more thing I don't need to worry. :)

The sound system I can tell there was a big installation from all the wiring, however I will have to start from scratch as I only have a JVC KW-XG701 headunit and two door speakers that work at the moment. And the sound is not nice at all.
More likely will go and buy a Pioneer 2Din headunit as I love the low and base they produce. And get a couple of amps one for speakers and one for a sub or two.

hahaha ... wow it looks similar, I bet they were similar at some point of the mods :) :)

So I dont own Steve's old car ... although it has all the LED's and the mirrors...

When the mirror convesion happened did you put a switch inside the drivers door trim to turn the automatic folding mirrors on and off?

TONS of people do blue LEDs in the interier, hardly a rare thing.

most important factor is its not running a 330hp 3sgte engine tho is it, lol
and his is still for sale!

O:)
