One things for sure. You can't be running a stock turbo.
If your holding that boost to redline, then it's highly likely your running a rebuilt hybrid turbo.
Not to mention a stock unmodified ct26 will not be making 275hp!! Especially with no ecu tune or ic/cc upgrade.

I'd suggest you find out what mods were installed by the precious owner, because 1.3bar on a stock rev1/2 HG will not last very long!!!! Asuming it's stock.

Either your tuner knew more about the mods than you do (hard to believe), or he knows nothing about the 3sgte engine!

Its not constantly running at 1.3 bar to be honest it just peaks at that not and again on the chart my turbo does hold the boost all the way, the boost is also mainly running at 1.1 bar looking at the reading on the controller, I have set the controller to low for now anyway so it should be ok

what boost are you hitting at redline tho??

as stock turbo isnt capable of holding more than about 0.7bar at 7k rpm.....

if your able to hold 1.1bar to redline its likely you got an uprated turbo.
in which case, 275hp is entirely possible, however, still recommended to get a metal HG.

I have the dyno sheets to prove the horse power also has a reading of the boost presure I will have a little peak at that to see when It drops off. I think I will first invest in the metal headgasket and also see if I can source an IC hopefully then all will be well :thumleft:

Its most likely running rich as the ecu will be detecting knock due to the high boost and retarding the timing (making it run richer)

Even with a Metal HG you still dont want to run it at 1.3bar, you will most likely need the wastegate ported on the turbo to stop the creep

retarding the timing (making it run richer)
?

whats ignirion timing got to do with AFR?

When the ignition is retarded each burn becomes less efficient and the fuel content in the exhaust becomes higher thus Giving you a righer A/F ratio.

Everything.

If the timing is changed then the AFR changes too.

I have spent far too many weeks on engine dynos to know that

Its not that.
If there is knock the ECU backs off timing and ups the fueling but the power will drop way off.

If this engine has 275 HP then its not knocking.

We have just had a Rev2 on the dyno and it gave 302 HP at 1.1 bar boost with a CT20b and timing set at 8 deg, stock fuel pump and injectors.

Get some bad knock and you will be able to smell pure Vpower comming out of your exhaust. :thumleft: I could when someone had my timing set WAY off. :(

Bob, does the CT20 have a better / more free flowing wastegate than the CT26?

Not that I can see.

The compressor wheel is bigger and the turbine wheel and shaft are smaller.

I will try and do some checking on the wastegate over the weekend.
