1. Mongoose
2. Fujitsubo Legalis R
3. hks silent hi power
4. Phoenix Power Departure 2 105 db limit past.
5. Hayward & Scott

Way too loud!!
1. Apexi Hayabusa
2. 5Zigen
3. Blitz Nur Spec
4. RSR
5. Rogues Revision6

A few exhausts that would be helpful to know.

Japspeed
Berk
Blueflame
KO Racing T1/R1

H&S is an awesome system, had mine for a good few years now, decatted with a satisfying muted rumble and passes noise tests for trackdays easily. Sounds awesome on WOT with the wastegate open.

My Berk with a C2Power stainless downpipe came out around 92dB at that RAF Woodbridge airfield day :)

Dep II (standard) is probably around the same, although likely to be a bit louder. I've had both on the car and the Dep II has an annoying resonant peak around 3500-4000 rpm that may notch it up a few dBs. The sound of the Berk is much more linear.

I was the red turbo at Woodbridge. :thumleft:

Are you saying you have a berk with a de-cat and it passed fine at Woodbridge. ?

Yep I remember, did not know if you wanted to keep the little scratch quite so thought I would not mention it.

I had a goose on the car then, now it’s a Japspeed and I don’t think its going to pass.
I would love to fit a berk, not sure I can afford the extra cost so might end up with a blue flame.
Will you be looking at any more track days this year?
Look forward to see you again at Duxford, it will be a great day with 30 mr2s at the moment.

Traditionally Magnex was always a little freer breathing than a Mongoose, mine certainly sounds very loud when you hit 5k revs, but does it break the legal limit?

I'd be interested to know before being turned away from events.

Ummm, hello?
Anyone?

Don’t know what to say, there has been problems with Japspeeds and noise levels on the n/a. For some reason the exhaust come out louder on n/a than turbos.
I have ordered a db meter, so could test it for you if we are going be at the same meets

OK, thanks anyway.

And yeah, that sounds good although its probably easier for me to get mine tested at the next track day I go to.

The 5Zigen Pro Racer has great flow properties with little noise increase. Sounds like a jet plane on boost.

For Sale if anybody is interested??

Turbos have the turbine blades in the way so are usually a bit quieter than n/a cars which essentially have an uninterrupted pipe straight to the the exhaust manifold (if they've been de-catted)

KO Racing R1 tested by Javelin at TSS Rockingham 106 db static test 101.2db with bung, just scraped in their 102 db maximum. Think the meter was a little optimistic as have not been done for noise even at Bruntingthorpe which is 98db static. Will soon be for sale as can,t risk exclusion from the Series.

I'd like to hear from someone with the Dep2Pro. Interested to see how this differs from the Dep2Regular. :thumleft:

Just added the RSR, havent had it tested but I'd say its just as loud as a NUR spec possibly even louder.

Add to that Rogues Revision6, 112db at 4500rpm

My rogue rev 6 is really quiet (seems to be anyway ),
A guy at work followed me home on his motorbike, and next day we were talking in the car park he said that MR2 sounded crap and tinny, compared to the size of exhaust he was expecting more (he didnt know it was mine  )

Im disappointed now

He is probably too busy overtaking people in 30 limits, and cant hear the exhaust over his. :thumleft:

Do you have a de-cat?

you can't just put hayward & scott on the list and say its fine! they do complete custom systems to each customers requirements. i have a full custom manifold and cat-less system on my 3vz-fe V6 with quad pipes from a single transversly mounted silencer (355 stylee) and it burbles nicely and growls when provoked, all 4 tips are 3" inwardly rolled. i would say mine would pass, but then every one of thei jobs are generally different! so hard to generalise.

I saw jonb's (I think) trackcar up at lukes on thursday and he had a Dep2 pro on his car.

Anyone else running a Fujitsubo RM01A? It's meant to be a bit noisier than the Legalis R but is also Jasma certified so it's not stupid loud.
