So now we have :-

Rev 1 = Three bottom end failures, 1 on number 3 piston, 2 unknown

Rev 2 = Two Number 3 piston failures

Rev 3 = Seven failures

including Brys mate who had number 4 go on his rev3

rev 3 low comp on cyl 4
same owner for 7 years meticulously maintained, yearly dyno runs showing 270 whp, been running Blitz ecu and 1.2 bar of boost all those years with no prob but now low comp on cyl 4 (110 psi)

Rev 3:
Engine 1 - Piston 3 obliterated & rod through block from running lean (had diode mod in it for FCD which rev3's don't like!!)
Engine 2 - Forged engine. Knackered crank, bearings, cams, head, turbo from powder coated rocker cover
Engine 3 - ok so far (touch wood!)
476bhp & 415ft lb @ 1.9bar Magic by Ryan!
Gone, but never forgotten
Now with a mk1.5 & a NHB EP3

I don't think that one can be allowed :lol: It broke because a load of sand got in the engine =;

FCD problem,... is that it ran lean as you demanded more fuel than the system could provide or it actually bu88ered with what got injected?

I think that could be added to the list as not many people would think a FCD is a big risk or any risk really.

Rev 1 = Three bottom end failures, 1 on number 3 piston, 2 unknown

Rev 2 = Two Number 3 piston failures

Rev 3 = Eight failures

rev3 - low compression on no.3 (4bar) doh! - engine didnt enjoy 1.2bar like my last rev3 did - forged rebuild shortly

There's still not enough replies to make any judgement yet about which rev is stronger, however there's no doubt that piston no.3 seems to be the weak link in all the engines.
