Well as some of you have seen in another post, the machine arrived Tuesday and I have by desperate to give it a go but held off till today.

well in the BRIEF bit of sunshine we got, I managed to do the drivers side.

for those who have not had a go before, OR have heard the horror stories from some garages....all I can say is "Rubbish".

I am a total novice at this, but with the instructions given in this thread and what came with the machine, I managed to roll the lip back parallel with the wing giving another 15mm of clearance, and the job was perfect.

Time taken, approx 30 mins, 10 of that was fitting the machine and getting it into the correct position.

Really was far easier than I expected, and as for the paint, still in pristine condition, no cracks or anything.

Time and Patience, thats all it really took :-) now got to wait for a gap in the rain to do the passenger side.

I had mine done by my mate who has a bodyshop, I needed the rears doing for my new wheels. He didnt need to use the rolling machine just used a grinder and shaved them back a bit, hes done loads in the past. Sounds dodgy but no chance of paint cracking or rusting and he used a really good sealer on them, looking at them and even feeling the underside you wouldnt know they had been done. :D

i have allways ground mine, however it makes the lip of the arch really weak even stone chips can dent it.

also leaves it a little sharp. i know you can blunt it a bit but allways better to fold the lip inder and have a nice blunt bit hey

A bit of sealant and then some putty and some sanding smooths it off nicely :D

Could'nt trust myself with an Angle Grinder, with my luck I would of lost 2 fingers and taken the rear arch out complete with wing.

Just to say, in all seriousness we ARE looking at a low rental on this. Have sorted courier with a decent price for collection and delivery. Think the only thing with people might be the deposit as the stumbling block....Would need to ask for a returnable £150 deposit, as long as roller is returned in same condition.

Food for thought.....we just need to work a reasonable rental period and charge.

if graeme can do it, it cant be too difficult!! haha! Image

with my 18" 8J et45's i only had issues with the inner arch, but then now with my tein coilovers the front wont fit! so need another new set of alloys with better off-set. will have to stick with et35 i think!

I've got that size in with a 245 35 tyre and there is no scraping, but I'm gonna get them rolled so I can run a 255 R888 or the like.
