I think this, because of the fact weight penalties are incurred with an mr layout. I haven't any actual proof.

I really like he smooth looks of the rx7 nearly brought one... but the issues and problems the car is fame for put me off...

So let me get this right.

My driver seat is in the front middle of my car because the seat is between the axles.

My dad had an NSU RO80. Until the engine lost compression. How did they solve that eventually - better alloys ? (Meaning metal. Not round things with tyres on).

My Dad had 2 x RO80's back in the 80's, in fact that was one of the first cars I did an engine swap on, the things were built like tanks but suffered badly with rust.
