Unfortunately bein gon a single income and living in an expensive area doesn't help. My Missus has been out of work for nine months now and all savings etc have been spent on keeping ourselves afloat.

She doesn't start work now until September, so will have money for JAE. but everything I had managed to put aside for Dudestadt will go on the Cat, Lambda sensor and (now second) MOT for the car.

Don't forget the breathalysers! Requirement in France from 01 July 2012. though technically no fines until November 2012.

What cover did you get mate? Green Flag wont touch the Pug due to it being 22 years old. AA cheapest so far at around £60

AA cover £80 single trip. Plus 30% via Quidco. There the only ones that would touch it, don't know why the Pug would be that much cheaper?

Must be based on individual cars I guess?!

I read about that, thankfully I'm not going near France. Ghastly place, full of rules. :D

Whilst I've got triangles, beam deflectors, first aid kits and spare bulbs I'm not going to be worrying about breathalysers as reckon I'll only be an hour in france before getting into Belgium.

AA cover for me equals £89 for full cover of £76 for light cover. I admit I wasn't going to bother.

Sounds like a better option would be just to take a tow rope with you, Scott! :+:

I remember towing Alan Head back from Spa to the ferry. Never knew you could tow at 80mph. Fun thing was, he couldn't do much about it! ;)

Am I imagining this or did you folks previously have Duestown shirts made up? Is there anything planned for this years event?

The first year Scott made a few, and Benny gave us some when we got there. We didn't do any tshirts last year.

Thank you to everone who has got in touch about Dudestadt, your comments and offers are appreciated. But I have made the decision that I am definetly not going now.

I have a summer holiday with the family to consider and JAE and will be stretching myself too thin to commit to this without ready money in the bank.

Believe me when I say this is head over heart and is really hard decision to make, especially with the thought of now not having my birthday in Dudestadt!

Not too late if peeps want some...turn around is approx 10 days or so from point of order.
