yeah mate. It was in the bodyshop for 6 months then on the road for 2 months then I parked it up and tore the heart out of it :D It will be worth it once it's finished!

We'll have to get to Crail together next year. Would make for a fun day as there'd be 4 of us all running between 400-700bhp :)

Well, as I have stated before, the oil temp gauge wasn't working....

I bought another one but when it arrived it turned out to be a 52mm gauge, I then sourced a new 60mm gauge. I went out to fit it when I noticed it was actually 52mm gauges in the car, lol #-o

I am 100% sure the original gauge works but the two wires for the sensor have come loose and I can't figure out where they go and in what order, I have the choice of 7 pins [-(

So, as I was never happy with the finish on the centre panel I decided just to remove it, file the holes for larger gauges, buy new 60mm gauges and get the whole panel fixed up and resprayed... :eye:

current wiring, couldn't find anything about the wiring online...

larger dial against the smaller ones

the finish on this was pretty tatty, it also had some hairline cracks, the holes now all hold a 60mm gauge so I will rub it all down, fix the cracks and repaint it.

Not much of an update but the car doesn't need much in all fairness... 8-[

p.s. what 3 gauges should I go for ? was thinking oil pressure, water temp and oil temp.
I don't need a boost gauge as it is incorporated in the boost controller.

Where is the best place for the A/F ratio sensor to be fitted ?

Also interesting to know the answer to this. But I believe the downpipe is the usual location, for example my berk dp has a blocked hole that can be used.

Yeah in the decat. I would assume the closer to the turbo the more accurate reading you'd get. As opposed to away down the exhaust system :thumleft:

The berk has a bung at the bottom just above the flexi, as apposed near the top where the O2 sensor is. Would this be too far ?

My guess would be anywhere in the exhaust system would give you a reading. However the further down the system the more "latent" the reading would be.

Where berk have it is ideal. Bottom of the downpipe.

Too close to the turbo and you'll just burn the sensor to an early death.
Instructions for most widebands state 'minimum' of 18inchs from the turbo from what I remember.

Get something nice and jdm as apposed to eBay gauges.
Better and smaller sensors plus I would hazard a guess at more reliable and accurate.

My greddys must be 20years old and still going strong.

MMMmm, I wasn't going to spend a lot on the gauges, for one, the gauges (bar oil temp) worked ok and this was simply a spur of the moment decision.
Once the car has been dynoed the gauges won't be that important, so with that in mind and the fact I have already bought one do I buy another similar oil pressure gauge

http://www.ebay.com/itm/52mm-60mm-Digit ... 5412fde6ea

and possibly this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321534288047? ... EBIDX%3AIT

to complete the set

or should I maybe go for this to keep with the colour scheme but be more accurate,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361378324354? ... EBIDX%3AIT

or will I just sell the oil temp I already have and buy another set, if so what would you guys recommend as a make and more importantly, choose the correct A/F ratio gauge and I will then look for the other two gauges of the same style/make....

they must all be the same make, be 60mm dia. and not to deep.

cheers :thumleft:

I personally run an aem uego wideband.

World wide recommended.
Had it a number of years.

Gauges are important before and after mapping.
They are useful 24/7 imo.

Agreed. I also have an AEM wideband. :thumleft:

Think it's 52mm only though. Most gauges are 52mm. Only the likes of greddy Defi and HKS etc seem to be 60mm.

Great, ](*,) , I just filed the holes to 60mm

I would have gone with your recommendation chaps but it has to be 60mm now, will keep looking to see what's out there...

Thanks all the same :thumleft:

minimum gauges, maximum information.. you want something that will warn you when something is about to go wrong.. not just some clock faces that you won't be looking at if you're driving fast enough.

I Agree with the AEM Uego, I've got one too (had innovate in the past) and it's a great bit of kit, as jim said, the boss in the berk DP is he ideal place for it.

again, as previously said, your oil pressure is a vital parameter to monitor, temp is nice to know too

it's a shame the greddy multi D/A has been discontinued, the PLX devices multi gauge is what I'd go for if I was buying today

http://www.plxdevices.com/Wideband-O2-A ... 002368.htm

one gauge (more if you want), buy your sensors and away you go

Ok, I think I will just get three of the 60mm cheaper gauges, (oil pres/oil temp/water temp) and then buy this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-AEM-Digit ... SwgQ9V4Eey

and find another home for it :-k

Is this the exact one everyone is recommending ? Is this the best price ?

cheers again folks :thumleft:

What would the guys in the know expect my fuel/air ratio to be on the current map/boost levels ? Does 12:1 sound about right ?
