I'm not trying to sus it anymore, Away to whip out the engine at the first opportunity, Bottom end will be getting done as soon as time permits too. just need to sort out a couple of bits for fuelling, turbo and ECU. then i can pop in the new engine.

hopefully, the ECU does away with a load of sensors so hopefully it's one of them. I'm not fussed either way, getting a fully rebuilt engine with standalone management will be easier to get running anyway :)

hahaha, I don't know why, I'm useless at updates and I never take photos!! I'll deffo take as many pics as possible though as I'll be doing the work (with A LOT of help) myself :)

right, bit of an update to this, messing round with the G4 tonight we noticed that the throttle position sensor doesn't seem to be working, also, the coolant temp sensor seems to be showing 100 degrees too( in my freezing cold garage with the engine off), could the dodgy ecu I tried on the car have done something to the TPS? what does is the relationship between the stock ecu and the TPS?? just interested of course as I've started stripping the engine now anyway so it's too late to do anything about it :)

oh, and would the stock ecu throw an error code for these?
