Can still do the campfire. Just would rather not have a fully loaded car with camping stuff.

Just wondered if there was a hotel option on site?

You think you've got problems? We'll be going in a 27 year old AE86! ;)

Still, at least my aircon is good. :tongue:

^^^ Wot he sed!

There's no hotel where we'll be staying, but there are some in the centre of Duderstadt. The Wild Bunch (the contingent from the Netherlands) take over the one right in the centre - there are sometimes spare rooms but I expect there are other hotels nearby.

If you're not camping at the Forsthaus Rotewarte you are likely to miss out on some of the fun, though.

Good showers, 24/7 access to the building's toilets... refrigerated trailer full of beer.

A great atmosphere, very comfortable, large outdoor seated area for the humongous barbecue on the Saturday night (weather permitting....last year we all ate in the restaurant where breakfast is served).....

Go onto Google maps and search for Fortehaus Rotewarte and you will see where we will be.

If you can cope with JAE, then you'll be fine with Duderstadt. It's much more civilised.

There are 2 big double showers with lockable doors (showering partner optional ;) ) and a toilet open 24 hrs, with more toilets in the restaurant area that are AFAIK only open whilst Benno (the owner) and his family are about, which is pretty much 24 hours as he tends to join in the fun too.

There aren't as many showers/toilets as JAE, but they're a max 30 sec stroll from your tent and there aren't so many people so queues aren't a problem. Plus the walk-in beer cooler is right next to the showers so you can always have a beer if you should have to wait :thumleft:

Camping on the triangle bit by the road, also on the green as you pull into it, and also behind to the right as you pull in. Bring your tennis rackets..... :thumleft:

And this is Dude Town....MR2's will be lined all along this street from one church to th either...with a market thrown in at one end for good measure. Cross fingers for the weather. Last year was the first year it has rained in the 9 years of the meet.

I have a bit of time on my hands so here's my Y9 level graphic design to add a bit more info about facilities :)

Image

Green = camping
Blue = Showers/loos
Red = Mahoosive campfire & centre of the evening fun
Yellow = BEER!
Orange = Restaurant (for breakfast) with further loos
Brown = courtyard with benches and tables for al fresco drinking/dining and the BBQ

Cool, we'll camp. :+:

It was more just the amount of crap I need to stuff into the car that made me think of hotels, but I think we'll look at cutting it down to the minimum where we can.

I was going to say perhaps you guys can join Erik and I in the big convoy from the Netherlands which is driving some good roads and stuff. But, you'd need to get to the east of the Netherlands by 7.30am which would most likely mean a 3am ferry or something, so not sure how possible that is. But wouldn't it be fun if you could make it! ;)
