why would these springs over lower the car by 10mm?

Because Peter has ignored all of the advice given about not using Jamex springs which are made from liquorice spring coils that practically touch each other (and definately clatter together over bumps) still he knows best :thumleft:

I personally think you're insane for even risking them Peter, sorry.

It isn't that I know best Paul

I havn't ignored your advice. Am very much aware of it

Unfortunately I already had the springs before I received the advice

Just couldn't bring myself to bin a set of almost new springs without trying them

Am not very happy about them

With all due respect Peter it's more the fact you chose to ignore the advice given before you decided to fit them, sort of makes asking about them on an Mr2 forum a waste of everyones time if you're going to fit them anyway. We even had identical pics of the compressed spring to your own findings.

Hugely frustrating.

All I can add is that I did not deliberately set out to upset or frustrate anybody

Fensport do decent springs, had them on my SC 11 odd years ago. They work very well with Koni's.

No idea, had no reason to try it, I just replaced the lot in one go. But, if they are standard dampers, then they are bound to be past their best, so you might find it a tad underdamped (ie bouncy) if you put uprated springs on there. BTW I went for the linear springs from Fensport rather than progressive rate springs. Guess all you can do is try it.

I've had no issues at all with any springs other than Jamex, which are utter crap, i'm gobsmacked they still make them to be honest.

I expected they would be re-designed by now but it seems not

Am using the car without problems at the mo, so far as I'm aware

If I do experience a problem then shall of course take action accordinngly

Peter, getting a bit repetitive this, every time you drive your car it IS causing you a problem, those springs are slowly bending your lower springpans everytime your coils become spring bound, for me you're driving a dangerous car with those fitted, but I'm tired of going on about them now, said my bit and it's your car and you've prooved you're going to do your own thing regardless of how crap they are just because you paid money for them.

I did the same thing 10 years ago , difference is mine went in the bin, I refuse to compromise the safety of my car or passengers.

That's my last word on it, I've tried to help you but you really are beyond help continuing to use those death trap springs.

Good luck.

You pays your money & takes your choice with pads I think Sean

Probably you get what you pay for

Everybody tells you something different

I need some PDQ & will probably go for Predators

5.1 fluid & braided hoses are good

Im set to put my twin pots on when my replacement engine is put in, but I'm worried that my master cylinder has had dot 4 all these years, would 5.1 not break the seal possibly?

No, should be fine. Could easily rebuild your master cylinder anyway which is a sensible precaution if it's not been done before. Tis easy to do.

Tbh, Sean, stock brakes working properly are more than enough for an NA (or an SC) even on track.
