Re: [Mk2] [Generic] CLOCK LED, Possible GB on RED/BLUE ACRYLIC PRE-CUT FACES
I followed your link and got me a sheet of clear red for my clock.
Forgot to show you earlier.
Will it cut with a junior hacksaw? Or should I score it deeply and snap it?
I'll also have a lot left over, so will be doing the same share/pass-it-on kind of thing, soon as I've used what I need.

I cut mine with a Stanley knife ,keep scoring until it cuts through ,I did mine by scoring deeply on both sides ,then final trim to fit with a sharp craft knife
If you try and snap it it wont break off clean ,and dont press on too hard either or it will snap, and a dremmel just melts the plastic
oh and its less likely to break if its warm ,otherwise its brittle stuff
You wont need to glue it in either, as its slightly thicker than the standard so the front holds it in place

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] CLOCK LED, Possible GB on RED/BLUE ACRYLIC PRE-CUT FACES
After ordering the clear red from ebay, today I did the mod ... 2 minutes start to finish.
1) Pop off clock surround (don't dent the dash at the sides)
2) Carefully pop off the smoke filter on the clock. This reveals a very bright clock, so if you're going for white, you can put the surround back on and live with it
3) Mark your clear acrylic sheet with the shape of the smoke filter.
4) Cut it out - it's quite soft for a saw, but too hard for a Stanley.
5) Sand a tiny tiny bit off each corner - the original smoke filter has rounded corners, so this will help it fit in.
6) Push onto the clock, and replace the surround. You won't need to glue it, as the new stuff is much thicker, and is held tight by the surround.
7) Enjoy.
Mine:
Woohoo! And loads left!
*EDIT* I should point out it's a lot redder in real life - night settings on my phone cam aren't too hot.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] CLOCK LED, Possible GB on RED/BLUE ACRYLIC PRE-CUT FACES
OK .. here's my idea.
Instead of me sending out bits of acrylic to whoever asks for some and costing me postage every time, I will send what I've got (all of it) to whoever PM's me first. I'll post up who it's been sent to.
That person cuts their bit off, and they send what's left to whoever PM's them asking for it. That way the only cost is postage and we all get a share.
So either Apocalypse or Rob, PM me an address and I'll post it hopefully later today.
