Hi

How reliable is your info?
How able is your expert?

20k life on a forged engine would not be representative,
other than a competition engine.

I know - I have one.

Interesting.. :-k

Do I expect my engine to expire soon? 21k miles on it..

Why wouldn't it last as long? A bit worried now...

To check. Never done it myself but was told you can unscrew a spark plug. Turn the engine (somehow) so the piston comes into view looking down hole with light and or and scope, if shiny then you know.
Running: 313.8BHP @ fly and 285lb torque on 1.15bar.

I won't get into throwing names on forums, but he's well known for his reliable, highly tuned MR2s. I think what he meant by rebuild was simple bearings and other cheaper easily worn components when running high power. I don't think he meant pistons, pumps, belts etc. after only 20k

Forged in Heaven?

Hmmmm

No, a slanging match would not suit anyone!

Bearings I believe should be replaced on a rebuild?
The only bearings that I thought, got hammered with upping power were those on the turbo?
Or more particularly on a Hybrid?
Which is why you should have 360 degree bearings?

Just trying to increase the knowledge base.

If you are rebuilding an engine, its always worth doing the big end bearings etc isnt it?
