[Mk2] [Turbo] turbo for 300rwhp

Post by bolton »

looking to get my car to 300bhp at the wheels, going power fc and 800cc injectors fully rebuilt top end and chargecooler but keeping bottom end standard. thinking of either a t3/4 or maybe a gt28rs although i think the gt may be on its power limit a 300rwhp. what do you guys think??

The smaller of the GT30s will do this in its sleep and spool up nicely too.

Go with the GT28RS. :thumleft:

The GT30 and GT2871 would both give you the power you wanted, with some overhead, but would both be laggier than the GT28RS.

You said your bottom end is stock, the GT28RS should make 340/350 flywheel hp, but your probably going to need to run 1.5bar or more to get that power, not sure how a stock bottom end would cope with that :-k

I think you'l struggle with a 28rs on pump fuel,

Headgasket shouldnt need changing,

I have a GT28RS and made 350bhp fly last week on the rolling road, approx 300bhp at the wheels.
It probably is good for a bit more but i am limited due to the actuator on the turbo. If i was to go external wastegate or forge actuator i probably would see around another 30bhp or so. AFAIK that is pretty much the limit of a GT28RS. :-k
Am running approx 1.3Bar.

I have a fully forged engine, Greddy IC (No chargecooler for me), powerfc and SARD 800cc injectors. :thumleft:

GT28RS all the way! Its a fantastic turbo, the spool and lag will be so much better on the GT28RS! Been in a 200sx with one and its a fantastic turbo.

Just rememeber running that sort of power eventually the bottom end will go bang.

3071r will run sweet for this. Very fast spool and high power at a lower psi. Was what I was gonna do until I decided to try and sell.

I would change the head gasket, and maybe cams too.
Running: 313.8BHP @ fly and 285lb torque on 1.15bar.

It was indeed, although i think it had 264 cams :thumleft:

Was at SRR also chap. Mind you the cell was about 2 degrees. Right time to put yours back on :D

Pulled lovely and where it made peak power it was only 1.15 bar :D

Why would it? As stated he is going to get a PFC so as long as the map is good then det won't occur and the standard cast pistons will be ok :|
