But yeah, I use them homeplug things, they are fantastic. 10x better than wireless.


I appreciate it's massively off topic but powerline stuff is all about to become illegal...

They give off massive amounts of short wave RF interference, I understand that there's currently an Ofcom investigation into their use to see if they unfairly intrude into a governed broadcast space.

Turns out it's actually moved on a bit from when I last heard about it. The debate revolves around a manufacturer certifying their own goods as 'CE Approved' when they aren't. Ofcom can only enforce in individual cases, and so far have removed a small number of powerline devices from peoples homes following complains from shortwave band users. However the protesters have now taken it up with Trading Standards as BT are flogging non-conformant kit with their Vision package.
