Just an FYI for everyone on here.
The Toyota Sprint Series is gathering names of interested people who wish to come along and enter (1 event or all) for some cheap fun motorsport.
Its a sprint race, ie: Cars attempt to finish a predefined course in as short a time as possible. Each run lasts between 1min (short course) to 3min (long course).
Its not really possible to get car to car contact as cars start roughly 30 seconds apart. Your car must be a Toyota (not a problem for us), and everything from standard road going to highly tuned cars will be there.
Everyone competes in their own class, so you wont be up against a turbocharger 500bhp monster, unless of course you own one too
Ive competed in all events for 2008 and found them to be a LOT of fun

Thread is linked above, its up to 44 people at the moment & there is plenty of info on the forums too.

Well put my name down, should be good fun thrashing the 86 around.
Re: Toyota Sprint Series 2009 - interested in entering?
It is ok to not do all of the events, is it? I assume I needs to get an ARDS licence?
Re: Toyota Sprint Series 2009 - interested in entering?
Yes you can do as many or few events as you want although less than 5 will mean you don't qualify for the championship.
ARDS licence is not necessary, however the organisers insurance requires you to have an IOPD licence. Last year this was £15 for the year or £5 per event. It is literally just a payment and you get the licence, no tests involved. You can buy it at sign on.

That's great about the licence. I have a helmet and a car, do I need anything else, eg a medical? fireproof anything, fire extinguisher etc?
