Mk1a info (manifold intake, Dash Lights)

Post by Milatint »

Hi Guys,

I would like to pick your brains to find out what diamiter I should ask for if I am getting someone to fabricate an aluminium pipe for an air filter on my MK1a? And what is the optimum/preffered shape/position for the pipe?

Also, afer fitting a new head unit I realised that all the lights in the dash etc are not going to match. I am going to replace them all with red LED's.
Would anyone know what led bulb to get from maplins for behind the dash and in the Stereo surround in mk1a?

Cheers,

Trevor

intake manifold is easy, just pull the rubber pipe off and measure it. if you give me your address i will send you a bulb so you can match it.

thanks for that, yeah the size is not too much of an issue I can measure that tonight, Just got the Jimi braket fitted with jimmy at the weekend and thought the alu pipe for my new filter would look good next to it.

The bulbs in the dash have a plastic cover on them to make them green then?

yep i knwo this due to changing 3 mk1's from the horrible blue to a nice black interior and when i did it i always changed the dash lights colouring too

all it is is a little plastic sleve you can just pull off the top of the lamp then justpaint with glass paint whatever colour you want

Throttle body is 2 1/2" internal diameter.

Small dash bulbs for ciggy lighter and heater controls are type 286.

Large dash bulbs for the speedo are type 501.

You need 3 of each for a mk1a - go to www.ultraleds.co.uk :thumleft:
