Not updated recently so thought it a good time to give a progress report.

The car is now a bare shell, its having the body work completely re done and re painted in white to match this car......

Image

It will be a sister car to the Yaris and will be at pretty much every santa pod show next year running along side the century motorsport/marangoni Yaris at set times throughout the day. The yaris is currently at Century Motorsport undergoing a 500+ hp build and re designing of the rear suspension/wishbone arrangement for the added power and drag strip use.

The MR2 has been on a major diet, all un necessary parts removed, fibre glass doors and a carbon bonnet will be fitted for next year.

Some pics of the car in current state..

As you can see the car was green before it was sprayed black - I wanted the car to look immaculate and the only way is to strip it 100% to insure the whole car is sprayed and will look brand new next year.

The motor is staying as is for now as the power output is plenty - next year with the reduced weight and more suspension tuning should see a drop in 1/4 mile times.

First show is scheduled for March, but not sure if my car will be ready to do a run at that show - will have too see how progress goes I guess.

Nath,

What CDI unit are you using to fire the coils?

Michael.
TOTB 2010 Rwd top speed, 1/4 and shootout winner.
10.7@142 on R888 street tyres, 10.3@134mph on slicks,
9's on slicks to come, with a clean full throttle pass! Goal of 0-150mph in a 1/4 of a mile....

Its not CDI Michael, its just straight COP.

And Jay,

I have a very good long standing relationship with Marangoni - they have always supplied me with tyres for my cars, i raced in the nurburgring 24hour for them and i did alot of instructing for them in italy. The Yaris was done badly, the engine was supposed to be 330hp, its a bog standard rev one with a metal head gasket... they want the car to be able to run up the strip in the 11's and look go as quick as it looks.

We have arranged a sponsorship deal where both cars will be at the shows in 09 under the marangoni flag and both cars will be branded century motorsport / marangoni - with matching colour scheme.

Nath,

Just seen you've sold your inlet manifold in the for-sale section,

What you going for? Straight runner design?

Michael.

I haven't posted anything up , maybe i'll scan some figures in but not the graph :D

As for first outing.... no idea & no rush really. The car is a bare shell at the minute so its still a long way off
