[All] [Generic] A bit more bling

Post by alan.i »

In the period leading up to my engine conversion, i have kept myself busy by doing a couple of jobs that are a lot easier with the engine out.
I have done a few polishing jobs in the past on various engine componants and thought i would carry on the trend.

Hope you like?

First thing to do was get rid of the castings.

I then used wet and dry paper to smooth the surface

Then finished off with a buffing wheel and compounds

There you go, hope you like?

Once there done, it's really easy to maintain, a nice smooth finish means no dirt can collect in the rough pitted surface.

The work took about 15 to 20 hours spent over several days.

I managed to get a 97 rev4 with 60k on the clock and the transplant will hopefully take place before christmas.

very impressive indeed!

i am looking at doing this. My rev 1 parts are looking a bit worse for wear. Again the time and labour don't look too appetising but nothing comes for free, right?

on the other side
I imagine very satisfying seeing a big :D shining back at you tho!?!
 well done that man!
