Ditch the 17" wheels and that bloody awful steering wheel and it could be worth maybe £600 :-k

first to see will by if they no what there looking

I hope his car maintenance is better than his use of English!
Recon engine, depends what he means by that - some people use it as a euphemism for changing a head gasket, I'd question him on that.
Certainly looks spangly in the pics though!

(This needn't be in OT btw, this is pretty much as far 'on topic' as you can get ;) )

Well it does look spangly yes... thing is it's in Wales and I'm near Hull. Long way to go to find it has rusty or badly filled arches.

Id throw him a cheeky question as to what he would take for it without the wheels as he could easily sell them on.

Well I did that... without the question about wheels... I actually like them

He wants £1800 for it

So off I go to find another... found one with no reserve, 2 days left at £310. is in saaaarfaaaampton, fair old trek.

I want £30k for my mk2, doesn't mean I'm going to get it! He's away with the fairies. £5~600 should easily get you a reasonably good one.

Looks okay.

Not worth £1800 though, hence why its at £510 with one day left!

Chavvy wheels, and wooden steering wheel - once they are removed, along with the spotlights and bought back to original it'd be okay. IMO
