First drive in a V6 and a Turbo today at Rogue, woo hoo !!!

Post by MID LIFE CRISIS »

I spoke to Patrick at Rogue this morning with questions i needed answers to about the V6 conversion, to which he was ,as always, very helpful :thumleft: . Afer noticing i'm only down the road from Rogue he asked if i'd ever been in or driven a V6 or Turbo, the answer was no  . He invited me to Rogue to try both out :o :o , maybe it would help me decide ? So, thinking it would be down right rude not to accept, lol, i went along

When i arrived, 3 guys were outside the workshop talking. I walked over, Lyndon said "We've 3 V6's , take your pick". I hadn't even said who i was, or why i was there  but they were exepting me.Ian , from the O.C. and a Rogue customer, took me out in his, done by them in March. I'm still struggling with words to describe this experience, "WOW" , "JEEESUS CHRIIIST" :o , "FOOORKIN' HELLL" , are good one's, along with lots of BIG SILLY GRINS lol. Constant pull from 1000rpm to 7000rpm through the gears. Similar to a plane on take off, that "pushed in to the seat" feeling as you speed up going down the runway, but with gear changes.  . It handled well too, when being floored coming of roundabouts etc. I drove this one and loved it, although i didn't go too mad, as it's not mine.

Patrick appeared and brought out a rev 3 Turbo, he drove it first to warm her up, again i'm lost for words but the one's mentioned before will do fine lol, with lots more BIG GRINS !!! A very different drive this to before, a bigger "push in to the seat" while the Turbo is boosting, again , very quick and handled well too !!! :D :D

I'm left with alot to think about now, leave as an n/a still pretty quick, go turbo for that rush of boost or V6 for loads of lazy power :-k :-k

A big big thank you to Patrick and Lyndon (Rogue) and Ian and Craig (customers) for a memorable day and lots of info. :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Lol!!! All i know mate is that i have one hell of a headache thinking about it  Me and the wife are off to New England and Niagra Falls on the 18th for 2 weeks, a fly drive. So i can chill and make my mind up then, there's no rush i suppose.

I bought the Camry last night and for a big car she flies, even using the box manually, due to no 1st gear when in D.Floor it in L and YOU'RE OFF, red line it and go into 2nd (2nd feels more like 2 1/2 or 3rd, in a manual) revs come right down and YOU'RE OFF again :D :D

Two very different experiances, and until you've driven them both it's difficult to say which one's better.
Tough choice ahead by the sounds of things!

Nothing mate, got made redundant a few weeks back and it been a luxury I`ve had to do without at the moment, credit crunch and all. :(

Coming to winter, like to leave it off the road as the weather starts to get bad as you`ll see many 2`s in the grave yard soon due to the weather.

Well lets hope the V6 is more reliable for you.

I suppose thats a plus for the V6 (MID LIFE CRISIS takes a note).

Sounds like you enjoyed yourself mate. Go for rev 3 turbo, you know it makes sense. Not that I'm biased or anything. Lol.
