[Mk2] [Generic] Urgent help with fron brake caliper pistons

Post by milan »

Hi,

This afternoon I have tried changing my front brake pads and I've got a problem with the pistons on the caliper when I hammer on of them in the other comes out, I have tried bleeding some fluid from the bleed nipple to see if that will make it easier but still the same problem.

Whats the best way to push these pistons back in, I really need to drive my car this evening??

Cheers in advance

just put one piston in then hold it with something(a bit of wood or a metal bar) then put the other one in and job done

Cheers for the help guys I managed to do it in the end!

I pushed 1 piston back held it with some wood then smacked the otherone in... Job done!

But.. now I just took the car for a quick spin and the brakes seem weak, I suppose they need bedding in, but I will check if there is air in the system
