my GTS TURBO rev2 TBAR, Black, 96k, 301hp **NEW PRICE £4k **

Post by jimGTS »

ok folks, my car is officially up for sale.....
(i have something new waiting to be picked up the weekend)

a car with PROVEN horsepower claims, and to say the car has had no expense spared is an understatement, i have a whole draw full of receipts for service items and mods!
if you want a car thats had a load of time and money gone into it, your looking at the right one.
ive been a member of the forums for nearly 5 years now, and would like to think i know my way around the mr2, so most if not all mods and servicing has been carried out by myself!

all important GO GO GO side, will remain the same...

160-165psi compression across all four cylinders.

headgasket replaced end of last year, with a 1mm cometic multilayed STEEL headgasket.
ARP head studs
new idler bearings, new cambelt, new turbo and head/block gaskets
new 13ltrs werth of forlife coolent
oil and filter change carried out literally a few weeks ago with 15w50 mobile1
new hose from hell installed, new thermostat, new oil cooler gaskets...
then comes the head!
fully cleaned, skimmed, relapped, reshimmed to take a rev3 inlet camshaft, new cam seals, new valve stem seals...
fully cleaned and painted engine bay.
removed TVIS and TVSV components

power

full speed density conversion (rev3 spec), so ditched afm, 540 injectors, rev3 ignitor, map sensor, ait sensor and mat sensor, all installed and mapped on a Apexi Power FC running 301.4bhp, 290lb of torque at 1.2bar....but i generally only run around 1-1.1bar...
ct20b, very little shaft play, done i beleive around 60k miles..pulls very strong.
apexi filter, extremeboost downpipe
nur spec exhaust (tho the silenser can be a little rattly)
walbro fuel pump
greddy IC
mbc
painted engine bay with red hoses

wheels and suspension.
rota slipstream, 7.5 and 8.5 staggered setup, running on toyo T1Rs tyres, all plenty of life left in there, 215/40 and 245/40.
pi -40mm springs
stock struts.

bodywork
greddy copy skirts and front lip from rogue systems (£460) (lip has a couple of underneath scraps), and a few stone chips here and there on the lip and skirts.
rev5 OEM sidelights
rev2 lights with the RARE el glow panel, full 4 lightup mod.
FULLY colourcoded sidestripes and tbar edges! transforms the car!
also painted rear light edges!

interior
momo wheel, momo gear knob, razor pedals, autogauge boost gauge in red/black lighting on a greddy piller holder mounted on the side piller.

security
a pager LEA 826 alarm, remote start, remote headlight, turbo timer.
bonnet, boot, door sensors

bad bits
as mentioned, few chips of the bodykit where stones have hit (prob down to bodyshop not knowing how to prep bodykits)....but still shines up and treat and is a perfect colour match!
odd age related scratch, will come out with a good polish.
slight oil leak coming from the cam cover (prob gasket needs doing)
removed A/C, to save weight, tho with a tbar, a/c is hardly needed on hot days!
nearside wheels have very very slight curbing, were only talking 5-7cm or something, not all round the wheel. (and started to loose the laquer seal)
central locking sometimes likes to play silly buggers.
being pretty finniky there, but none of these detract from the look or performance of the car at all!!

summery
drives great, handles well....lots of useable power from as little at 2k rpm! has sweet torque and power curves as seen on the dyno sheets, so pulls well throughout the whole rev range!
chance to own a car thats taken FOUR years of my life and money...easily 8-10k werth of mods, labour and service items have gone into the car....

i will happily take people out for a test drive, unless you have insurance on your own mr2, your welcome to take the drivers seat...with no valid insurance on a mr2, or previous experience, it may only be me driving...

open to sensible offers, and general comments of what people think its werth!!

all the pics you could ever want......

10-11months mot, 3months tax....

passed mot with flying colours, only advisory was the exhaust was loud, lol..

ive had the car over 40,000 MILES, and only thing to go wrong with it was the headgasket when it didnt like the raised boost!
never broken down, EVER!
recently done a 370mile round trip last weekend, car was faultless!!

 Shocked to see this Jim but I guess your next car will be better. Dont drop too low on the price bud. Remember you could probably break this car in a weekend and sell the parts for 4k! Maybe worth you writing a list for yourself and pricing all the parts so you can see what its worth in parts. You got a link to your new car?

Nice to meet you again James. The car did fantastic on the way home.
I really had to restrain myself to stay close to the speed limit.
