[Mk2] [Turbo] Xs power/motoria/Japspeed exhaust

Post by craig »

These twin exhausts on ebay made by the above, are they worth the £300 delivered price? I like the look of them and nearly bought one, then read a post of someones cracking.

I need an exhaust as my Apexi is generally knackered, but are they a waste of £300 of was the guys whose cracked, just a one off?

Don't want to waste £300 if it's going to be crap. Should I put that cash towards a genuine Blitz/HKS etc exhaust for my rev 3 turbo?

Cheers :thumleft:

It was mine that cracked...

Saying that, I've never read of any one elses cracking. I think I know why it has cracked.. it'd just take a whole pageful to explain. It's to do with the forming process..

I've had many exhausts, I was happiest with the Motoria. Looks, sound & (yes) quality are why I kept it longest.

I'll leave a single thought for you...

Berk & Rogue have their cans braced. Why?

Hope it helps you choosing matey..

No, they're not braced. As the central pipe heats, it get slightly longer, pushing the 'y' section apart. Sounds minimal, but then combine that with the rocking nature of an engine under load will cause fractures (eventually) at the weakest part. Due to the forming process for the conical ends of the cans, this is where it could crack. Which is possibly why Toyota made the original in a lazy 'S' shape to absorb the slight degree of movement.

My Motoria has cracked right up the weld line on the Y piece I found out this week :( Although to be fair I have clonked it once or twice!

I have an xspower on mine and looks great and sounds better, altho it sounds better with age. I had a problem with it resting against the towing eyes at first but some washers under the hangers sorted this out.
