Well, with that line up, I'm sure you'll cause more than a few surprises Mitch. All the best for the day (weather and results) to everyone competing. :thumleft:

Competitors can on the understanding that the gates will be locked around 7pm and nobody will be allowed in or out but the general public aren't allowed access until Sunday morning.

Well it's nearly time chaps - hope everyone is OK, I got my tickets through today, hopefully your stuff arrived too.

I'll drop everyone a message with my mobile number tomorrow in case you need any help on the day or before but hopefully we'll all be OK :)

How many of you are planning on being there on Saturday? Would be good to get setup then if possible to make things calmer on Sunday morning.

Make sure you have a battery clamp fitted - that's one of the things they always check and we've fallen foul of it a few times.

Please be there as early as you can on Sunday if you are arriving on the day, beat the public crowds otherwise you'll miss the briefings etc and not get to run.

And finally this is what you are up against... some tasty stuff for you to play with :D

Cool, just keep an eye on the time, it'll be a nightmare to get in if you leave it too late.

I'm aiming to get the same pit position as last time, right down the bottom close to the start line, that way you can sometimes push in to the queues O:)

Greeny - if you don't need the car on Sat night you could always get it checked out to save time on Sunday then and leave it overnight, I'm sure the MR2 chaps camping will keep an eye on it (along with the security guys) and I should be able to give you a lift to the campsite if you need one.

You should get them once your car has been checked over on Saturday or Sunday :)

Did they send you a pit lane pass or anything that says you are a competitor so that you can stick it in your window and get to the right place on the airfield?

I'm double checking gate opening times now sir, will report back asap - everything OK with the car?

That should be OK as long as you hide it away early in the morning - it will need to be moved over into the corner of the airfield past the toilets / handling course as soon as you can - we'll only be able to have a couple of support vehicles behind the pit garage and certainly no caravans :)

Gates open to people taking part at 7:30 - you need to be in before 9:30 as that's when the public will start blocking things up.

Ideally I'd like everyone there by 8am if possible, that way we can get everyone checked over and ready to go as soon as the event starts. It also stops me worrying that you are stuck on the hard shoulder somewhere :)

It would probably be good if people could hit the handling course as early as possible and get at least one time in, the queues should be a lot better this time around due to new timing gear but it's worth getting one on the boards early before hitting the strip :) You can always go back for more later.

Anyone bringing fuel (and please make sure you have enough for the day because going out and getting more will be a nightmare) please be aware that there will probably be a refuelling area at the top of the pit lane for health and safety reasons - all fuel must be kept there and any refuelling must be done there too. As a result of this I'd recommend marking up your containers clearly so that nobody else uses your petrol - with it being expensive these days I'd expect there to be an armed guard up there all day.

Support vehicles / friends - these should be parked in the public parking areas if at all possible, if you need specific tools and parts in the pit area liase with each other and store as much as you can in one or two vehicles to save space behind the pit area. I'm sure we can all trust each other with our things.

As some people will be coming in their MR2 we'll probably need somewhere to keep the contents of their boot and any other bits removed for racing (spare wheel etc) - if any of you with vans could look after this that would be good. Bring bin liners to keep your stuff in if necessary and stick your name on it.

On a related note... the pits and pretty much the whole site is open to the public to wander around, keep valuables locked away or keep an eye on them at all times. I've never known anyone to have anything taken at the event but with that many people around it's possible so please keep this in mind.

Clothing - long sleeved tops are usually required, make sure you have one with you.

Helmet - obviously you'll need one, please don't forget yours. If anyone has 2 please bring both along just in case someone isn't as organised as you.

Battery clamp (again) - please check you have one :)

Throttle cable - they tend to check these aren't too slack, move freely etc - check yours before they do.

And finally (for now) - bring sun screen - even when it's not sunny you still seem to burn at Elvington 8)

Would anyone be kind enough to look after my car?

I will have the van. It will have some tools and parts and if people need to change or leave stuff in it just ask me.

Right now i'm tryin to fit my launch control!

I got so excited by the RS200 that I didn't see Pat's son Liam listed in the Fiesta - another absolute monster!

2 Rallycross Supercar class cars should be a lot of fun to watch, the Fiesta does 0-100 in about 5 seconds I believe.
