[Mk2] [Turbo] Anyone got this turbo?

Post by Graeme Shaw »

Hi

Looking at ebay and came across this nice looking turbo
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 2759.l1259

Any one had one of these, im awaiting full specs of it. Unless anyone knows exactly what it is? ie trim size and stuff?

wonder is it legit.

i thought the housing needed to be bigger for a turbo to be capable of 600hp as claimed in the ad?

Dont know about the specifics but if its got the larger trim then surely thats all that matters?

I know when i had my turbo'd cinquecento i almost had T2 internals put into my T15 turbo, would've needed bit of work to the housing but effectively a T2 turbo in a T15 housing, though not sure if its possible on the scale they're talking (T4 into a CT26 from what i can tell?)
Ex Rev3 n/a x1
Ex Rev1 Turbo's x3 (buy cheap = buy 3x...)
Current VW Bora TDI

What exactly does the "T4/60" bit mean?

Would stay clear of that. Exhaust foot print looks different and there's a lack of bolts that side. Better to keep your money save up and buy a good turbo from a good dealer. I found ats to be good.

Mmmmm......... looked ats, but I dont think there ct26 upgrade is that good.
Ideally im looking for ct26 hybrid stage 3 or something close. I think most stage 3`s run a 48 or 52 mm wheel, stell internals and 360 deg thrust bearing.
The ats only seems to run a 46mm wheel?

That is the size of comp wheel, a big one.

basically its a garret centre fitted into toyota housings, hence why it says you need the new flanges for oil inlet/outlet.
but with that turbo pictured you would have to make a new downpipe, unless he could supply the turbo with a proper 3s-gte exhaust housing.

as for claims of 600bhp! i wouldnt believe that for a minute!

T4 is a size of turbo, the same as T3, T25, GT35 etc
That is a large wheel but its not just the comp side that gives the power, the whole turbo has to be right and sized to the engine.
