That's a good point, never tried playing online with the ps3 connected wirelessly. Although, to be fair, it's sat next to the router so can't imagine it wouldn't have a strong signal.

Re: 360 advice please
I live in a massonette, where my phone line is by my front door And I live upstairs. So currently my Router is by my front door, hence the wireless requirements. I play my PS3 online all the time via Wifi without any problems.
If I was to wire the connection I would have a cable running up my stairs and into my living room.
Found a deal for A premium 360 plus GTA4 and COD4 for £230. I'm actually considering selling my PS3 again now. As I only play COD4 on it really. (although I've got GTA4, GT5p, warhawk, fifa 08 as well)
Just don't think I'd play it when I get a 360...

We tried it a few times at the Sailor's. He lives in the middle of nowhere, crap ADSL connection. Worked pretty well. Could certainly play without issue.
We use hardwired connection, really because the cable-modem hub is right next to the PS3.

Yup, it's really not so much of an issue now as it was back in 2001..

I just like the fact I'm using the house's electrical wiring as a network! so easy to use plus anyone in any room can get a hardline to the internet.
Even the garage and shed outside can internet!

Does depend if you have a spare socket though, there in pretty short supply in my room. Only have 2 and already running nearly 20 items.

Speed starts to get much, much worse though. Try to stick to wall outlets.
Dabs are doing some v.cheap ones at the moment, not the fastest though.

Except HDMI cables cost peanuts in comparisons to adding wifi to an XCox.

It's nice having WiFi though, an example - I took my PS3 around to a friend's place, plonked it down next to his TV and connected to his router at the other end of the flat wirelessly, was great for Buzz sofa challenge and we also did some GTA4 & WarHawk online, I didn't notice any lag, although I agree that ethernet is the way to go if you have the option.
(BTW - he's now in the process of convincing his Wife that he needs a PS3 )

Re: 360 advice please
I like wireless. Although never attempted to use it for gaming.
Re: 360 advice please
I have no problems with wireless for gaming, the 360 is on a different floor and works 100%, it's a shame my laptop isn't as happy connecting to the network, £1400 and even with full signal it can be a b1tch, what do you expect from a sony?
joke btw, although it is a sony

Horrible Vaios and lovely PS3s :)pcp wrote: what do you expect from a sony?
Got my 360 up and running btw, fixed the RROD, can't connect to my wifi router for some reason though ;)
Played Halo for about 5 mins before firing up Drake's fortune, will give another whirl after I've completed Uncharted.

The laptop is lovely apart from the dodgy wireless, weighs less than 2kg
Did you fix the 360 yourself? Halo is good, tho i only like it in co-op, multiplayer is way too slow after playing COD
