How many people have both consoles? I know I do.
I am not a Bill Gates lover and the same goes with Sony.
The simple fact is - My 360 is used on a daily basis (gaming or streaming DIVX) and my PS3 never gets powered on and just gathers dust due to limited decent (and full functioning) games.
If it played the majority of DIVX I would use it in my bedroom but it complains about 60% of avi's I throw at it (even though its DIVX certified!).
Just not good enough.
My old white 360 is 3 yrs old and finally died last night! she has done well considering I use her everyday for long hours
Now I get to buy an Elite!
Ok i'll finally admit it.

Thats the way forward mate! Myself and 5 of my mates (3 of them on here) have all done the same.
Pain is temporary, pride is forever.

my real hate with the ps is when i a game say COD 4 you unable to bring up your friends see who's online and join them
i am sorry then whats the point of having friends all you can do is invite them not join them
at least i can join my mates games on the xbox and see what they are doing whildst in the game not just on main screen
Aha, firmware 2.36 was released recently, looking at the 2.4 specs, the ingame cross media bar (XMB) will now be available
Problem solved.

Take it off his hands, easy enough to fix, my first one RROD and i took it apart and used some electrical tape and 8 pennies to fix it and it worked fine, it crashed maybe 3 or 4 times since but 2 minutes with the towel trick sorted it. My elite hasn't crashed once yet, and i keep it in cabinet to keep it warm
I will be the 'proud' owner of a fugged 360 in a few hours, hopefully easily fixed...
Re: Ok i'll finally admit it.
I wouldnt touch it if I were you. Just send it off to Microsoft and have them fix it for free.
Re: Ok i'll finally admit it.
All joking aside, the PS3 is a much better games console.
Re: Ok i'll finally admit it.
If by games console you mean door stop then yeah, I agree

matt_mr2t wrote:Pete, thats EXACTLY what I hate about the PS3. I love the little pop up screen on the 360 so I can see who's online and what they're playing AND send them a message without coming out of my game.
Why on Earth Sony decided not to have that function on the PS3 is almost laughable.
I hope that perhaps there will be an update for it to remedy this as it really is a bit pointless having friends that you cant see when playing games!
The 2.4 update adds in game XMB,
FWIW, I have a PS3 bought on day of launch in the UK. It's been utterly reliable; I'd say I have to download updates for as many PS3 titles as I do X360 titles (I have an Elite also, bought on day of UK release - it's been reliable, but is quite noisy - I think newer ones are improved).
I prefer the PS3 concept. I prefer the 360's controllers and games selections. I have no friends, so the online stuff doesn't worry me.

Whoops, double post. Um... I quite like the Wii, too...

as matt said if youcan send it back to MS then you may as well, wasn't an option for me as i opened mine up a few days before the anouncement of the 3 year warranty
Heres a quick vid of how to fix it, there's loads of tutorials on the net of how to take it apart too

Re: Ok i'll finally admit it.
If MS wont fix it (more like replace it) under warranty, then all you can do is strip it and flog the parts.
Benq and Samsung DVD roms are the most sought after. The psu will go for up to 40 quid which suprises some people.

I have a dead xbox, I keep meaning to phone Microsoft to come and get it so when it's fixed I can flog it.
I'm so lazy though lol

£20 postage! Sure you didn't have the 360 PSU on the scales at the time?
