[Mk2] [NA] this is silly
ok so im 19 no ncb but 2500 is a joke i hate insurance companies
Re: [Mk2] [NA] this is silly
sure you said mr2 and not murchielago (lambo) not sure on spelling thats madness, i thought £340 was bad when i started driving 18 years ago i found it hard to find the money for insurance, mind you i was driving an escort rs turbo at 23 when insurance was quite bad soon as you say gti or rs insurance companys laughed i only piad £360 fully comp then thats why thay abolished the gti, rs, xr and so on, in saying that thay have started to bring them back out now

You are too young realistically as is evident from your insurance quotes. So of course it's your age. You haven't even been driving 2 years yet!
You don't have the experience and most likely haven't developed enough skill not to kill yourself or someone else.
You will have to wait until you are old enough, you will have plenty of time left in your life to drive fast cars.
Life isn't fair get used to it.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] this is silly
just sorted my insurance out today, £420 FC mods declared on my import N/A with 4yr NCB. V pleased. Id never even entertain the thought of paying over 1000 for insurance for a damn car, what a total waste of money.
Re: [Mk2] [NA] this is silly
got my first quote for my mr2 when i was 22, i had only just passed my test (I didnt bother taking it till then as i lived and worked in town) and the quote was £2500 fully comp all mods declaired (Veilside kitted import n/a)
i then went on to drive my company car for a while and got round to insuring my mr2 in feb this year, just before my 24th birthday having only had my license for a little over a year. because i had been driving the company car i hadnt gained any ncb, and i paid £1600 fully comp all mods declaired at the age of 23.
so yes £2500 @ 22 years old
£1600 @ 23 years old
im going to hold the car for a month before i turn 25 in march next year as i hope it drops down again when im seen as 25 plus i will have a years ncb as well.
it sucks, but quite rightly so, there are a lot of dangerous drivers out there and they tend to be under the age of 25 and male. just got to live with it

Re: [Mk2] [NA] this is silly
Lauren say it all really but from an insurance perspective:
19 years old + 0 NCB + MR2 = Accident waiting happen
Sorry but that is the way it is, claims loss ratios for young, inexperienced drivers are horrendous.
Ollie
Sky Insurance

If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.
