[All] [Generic] Show me your stereo if it meets my needs...

Post by michael »

I'm looking for a new MP3 headunit for my daily driver but can't seem to find anything suitable in the current ranges on offer in the shops - I'm thinking of looking at used ones now but wanted a few ideas first.

What I'm looking for:

1. All green illumination.

2. Plays WMA / MP3 CDs

3. Silver plastics rather than black

4. Single DIN

If you have something in your car that sounds like it might be suitable please could you post the make and model or a picture please.

Bonus points if it has USB input and Bluetooth but I can cope without those :)

A friend of mine was raving the other day about his new stereo head unit he'd bought off ebay and fitted.
All-singing-all-dancing he claimed.
It was utter bilge, the ebay ad' had defo won him over.

First how much do you want to spend?

Dont buy anything like the one above as its rubbish. I'd go for one of these.....

Under £100

You can buy an ipod cable, usb cable and bluetooth addon. Although the bluetooth isn't cheap so i didn't bother with that.

Cheers, I managed to pick something up in the meantime - a bargain used JVC unit that meets all my needs.

I've got the old model* of this...

http://www.jvcmobile.co.uk/product.php?pr=122

*and it's great (also had no real problems with active system seeing as on the old model, everything's available on 4x pre-out's + subwoofer plus normal speaker outputs -that'ts what the old model does anyway.)

...couldn't recommend JVC highly enough anyway -or Panasonic.

*** edit -Whoops, problem sorted. Sorry, nevewr saw that.***

Ebay

Sorry to hijack the thread but in an above post you mention that the ebay one was rubbish, I've been looking at a similar one with fold out screen. Why is it bilge, is it sound quality, build quality or what. Advice appreciated.
Cheers Steve
