[Mk2] [Turbo] Good breakdown recovery?

Post by mr2nut123 »

I'm taking a few more long distance trips in the tubby now and think it's a good idea to get some breakdown recovery. I'm looking for recovery that will bring me back to my specified location and not just the nearest garage. How much would I be looking at and who's best to go with etc?

I have Britannia 'ResQ' through my insurance. They saved the day when my turbo oil return feed melted on the downpipe recently - took them 40 minutes to get to me on the M4 and then had a choice of going on to my final destination or taking me home.

i pay £10 a month with the AA, that's for breakdown cover, home start and relay which means that they will take my car anywhere in the uk if it breaks down....

they do try putting it up to £15 every year but i just phone them up yearly to remind them that they are offering it for £10 a month over the Internet, cheeky beggars [-(

im with direct line breakdown and it costs just over £100 per year for my rev2 tubby.
I get upto 3 callouts per year, which includes to my home address aswell (some cheaper options wont cover home start), can be towed to a location of my choice if they cant solve the problem.
So if i break down i can be towed home, then if i cant get the problem sorted there i can then get them out to tow me to a garage of my choice.
It used to cost about £80 per year with my rev3 n/a.

I am on the look out for cheap breakdown recovery atm......want to go with Club Toyota as it's cheaper than going directly with the RAC.....but they say my car is a "grey" import... and wont cover her...I have a man on the inside trying to help me out.

Who ever heard of Club Toyota not allowing a Toyota to join their club????????

Recovery to the nearest garage, your intended destination or home
