oBladeo 1991 Mr2 Turbo Project (wip) So Far...

Post by oBladeo »

I know you've all seen my car but thought i would put a thread up on how far i am atm

Heres the car when i first got it.

The car had been hammered and the gearbox sync had gone in 3rd. Also the engine and turbo was on it's way out but i love mr2's so i thought lets fix it. Got it for £4500

Heres the spec as i got it. Nothing amazin also there was a stereo but everything was broken so that had to come out.

Was running 310 at the fly (got a print out) but not for long as the oil and water pump was on it's way out lol

Exterior
Full Bomex Body
17" Toora Alloys with Goodyear Eagle F1'S On Rear & Khumo’s On Front
Full Body Respray in Metallic Black
Rogue Systems Afterburner LED Rear Lights
Eibach Lowing Springs
2x Toms roof scoops

Engine
Hybrid turbo
Turbo Auto Timer
Manual boost control
Rear Strut Bar
100 BHP American wet NOS with Purge (broken)

Interior
Full Beige & Black Leather Retrim
Sports Pedals.
Samco Gear knob.
Water Temp, Oil Temp, Volt, Boost Gauges
Large Techo with Bright Red Adjustable Shift
Mono Steering Wheel
Snap Off Steering Wheel boss

The first thing we did was drop the gear box out. Had loads of problems was it's a ar$e to get out but done one before. Plus who ever had worked on the car before must have been a retard and loads of bolts where missing and thing where all over the place (even a engine mount bolt was missing :s)

so set out buying stuff

First was the quad lights from revision6

Image

Next was a stereo

Image

Image

Clarion touch screen motorized DVD player
Pioneer equalizer with display
2 x 1 farad power caps
1 x 1.5 farad power cap
2 x 10" 1000watt alpine subs
2 x 550watt rms alpine mono amps
4x infinity components with tweeters and crossovers
Kenwood 500 watt rms amp
Alpine base controllers

Next was the turbo and intercooler

Image

XS Power T3/T4 Turbo
XS Power Intercooler
XS Power external wastegate
XS Power Down pipe
XP Power Manifold
XS Power Screamer pipe
XS Power Oil Feed and Return

The stanadard turbo is water and oil fed but the t3 is only oil fed. So we had to customize the oil feed and put a tap on the oil outlet on the engine to a braded line.

Then the oil pump went and game over the cam had eaten into the head and that was it i had to get the engine rebuilt but whats the point in standard lets change it abit.

Had a word with the jap guys i know about fueling and also revision6 and put a order in for

While at truetech got bored so started to design what the new look of the car should be so went out and got myself some gadgets and bargins

First was the new mirrors
Image

and the new C/F wing to get rid of the crap on on the back of it

Image

Decided to make the NOS work how i wanted it too so got

blanket
Image

Its a Nitrous Express Electric Bottle Heater with automatic pressure switch

Image

This should keep the bottle at 950-1000 psi which is the best pressure to use the bottle

I think maybe the fuel presure cut switch will need to be bought next

And thats how far i am atm should be complete for 2009 :D

Allot more carbon (bonnet, boot,so on..) for the outside and wheels will be changed but i'm just doing internals first

not that much :(

People see allot of parts and just think they can afford them. I've cut back so much to build a car i want and it hurts allot.

All i'm saying is it will be finished soon. And if anyone anyone wants were driving to german (ring) (stopping in france begum) 2009

if you want to come

NO ROAD RACING!!!!!!!!!!

This is a planned cruise not messing just fun. We race on the Ring only. I'll start a thread when it's closer to the date.

The only thing i want is everyone to enjoy themselves
