[All] [Turbo] ST 205 Chargecooler with a Difference

Post by BrianUK »

I have been looking round for a decent radiator to use with the 205 Chargecooler I got fitted to my rev 3.

Now I know that most have gone for the chinky rad, but I took a different route.... And for the grand total of 15 quid I have bought a brand spanking new Triumph Motorcycle Radiator through eBay!

AT 20" Wide, 8" High and 1"" thick its an ideal size to fit to the front of the car. It has its own filler cap - and the inlet / outlet pipes are the same as the chargecooler!

...and being Japanese its extremly good build quality..

I shall fit it next week and will keep any that are interested informed!

:) Brian

Its just time - fitting it will be a breeze though. But I am going to go to the trouble of removing the bumper - just so that I can get some decent photos!

Curious choice, as the stock CC rad is a huge thing really are you going to use a reservoir?

Ive used a Triumph Sprint radiator on my CC for over 3 years now, its ideal, aluminium so lightweight and the capability to cool a 120bhp motorbike (rather than a 40bhp Fiat), so more than man enough for a CC.

Well I got mine from work (I work at Triumph), so bought it as scrap for a fiver, even though it was brand new, there all over the place here!

I was thinking of trying a new one of our new 1800cc twin, as its a bit bigger and has the entry and exit pipes ina better place, and then on the other hand Ive never had any cooling problems even on the hottest trackday, which would suggest the one I have is perfectly adequate!

This looks interesting. I am looking for a big big chargecooler rad to fit in place of the aircon rad. Looks like this fits the bill. Have you got the part numbers of the rads ?

Cheers

Ben
