I looked into buying an MR2 (mk1) when I was 20 and was quoted £15k for 1 year of TFPT cover. I waited until I was 25 before buying my first car.

There is no such thing as a cheap quote for an MR2 when your still in your teens.

I'm paying 800 euro a year, seems a lot cheaper than most young people here. 21 now but was calculated when I was 20.

Third party only, and have to pay the first 500€ myself though.

I have just been looking through the policy gumph that came through from Houghtons (MK1 Club Insurance Brokers) and have just found out it covers track days \:D/

Granted there are exclusions and fairly hefty excesses (no where near £6k excesses on other specific track day policy's), but if you have a mint MK1 or an SC you want to use on track it's deffo worth it IMO :thumleft:

That sounds like a harsh one.

I smashed my first mr2 up, by going into the back of a vw polo. They are quite easy to repair if you can find the bodywork that you need.

Mine was my fault, so i didnt dare go to my insurance

I pay £110 fully comp on a classic policy.

:thumleft:
I too swear by Lancasters
my mk1b n/a £109
my mk1a n/a import £132
my mkb SC import £249

For some reason they dont suit everyone,
When my friend Tommy (coverco) tried
He was quoted a lot more!!!!!
