[Mk2] [Turbo] replacement part- where from?

Post by robbie_742003 »

Car starts spluttering today, wont boost and kangaroo'd a fair bit. Pulled over and found the plastic 'T' piece used to incorporate my boost guage has snapped (how the hell could that happen??!!)
I've since sorted it so i havent got any boost reading and would like to know,1. where is the best place to get a replacement and, 2. do i need to buy one which has the 2 little brass inserts in?

any help much appreciated! :thumleft:

If you mean the 'T' piece with the 5mm(ish) hose connected to it then go to a pet shop and get one from the marine (as in fish, not armed forces!!!) section.

Thanks for the replies chaps, got one today from an aquarium place, do either of you know if the little brass inserts which were in the original Omori 'Y' piece were essential?

OOHHH Yeah mate! those inserts are a must have, it'll never work without them!

Sure it'll be just fine. The brass inserts were prob just to give it some strength if attaching jubilee clips etc or maybe to prevent cracking over time and weather conditions.

See you soon bro.

Probably just an excuse to charge more at Toyota.

Oh...and I just use little tie wraps to hold the hoses on to the connectors. No real pressure to worry about.
