At the moment, I don't believe it's a feature that's supported. However, I understand the clever people that pull the levers behind the scenes are testing the forum on a newer version of phpBB so it may be implemented when that's rolled out.

quick reply is currently not installed/available/switched on.

TBH, it's usually better to get people to consider what they are writing before they let loose the dogs of.. er.. keyboards.

can we not get a better choice off smiley's(emoticons)...most other forums have better/more humorous ones yet we only have access to the basics...

is it hard to get a better selection or does it cost... :-k

i for one would enjoy a better selection...

thanks :thumleft:

If you do want Quick Reply then there is a Greasemonkey script available for FireFox that gives you that option in all phpBB-based forums. I've had it installed for a couple of years now and it's great, but I can't remember where the hell I got it from. A proper google should turn something up.

Runs fine under both XP and Vista too :thumleft:

You can get whatever emoticons you want as long as you're happy to host them somewhere like photobucket.

I think the 85+ emoticons available here cover most situations - if none of them fits then a selection of carefully chosen words might do the job?

If there are some specific ones you'd like to see then do make a suggestion here and if it's possible and cheap/free I expect something could be sorted out the next time there's some updating to the forum that needs to be done.

TBH, only a few are actually that useful when clarifying the intent of a post when otherwise it might be ambiguous. Most are just a bit of fun and aside from some serial emoticon abusers (*cough* Harry *cough* ) they don't get used that much.

Steve,

Greasemonkey scripts for Firefox are here :

http://www.otsegolectric.com/greasemonkey/

But I've not tested them myself with the IMOC site.

Smileys - we do have a very wide range (80+ as already noted)

If you think there are specific ones that we're missing, post here with links to the images.

Cheers,

Ben
