Right!

I am aiming for Saturday 26th March for all of these events...

Geoff Bloor can only do 240bhp at the wheels, ~ 300bhp fly which I suspect puts it out of the running. He said he would do the runs for £10 a car but the plots wouldnt include boost.

Noble Motorsport can cope with all of our power requirements, and do 4wd and will plot boost, torque and power. They will charge us £38 per car regardless of it being 2wd or 4wd. They have also put a restriction of 15 cars on the event. The event would be held in Chesterfield at Noble Motorsports garages.

Thor Racing can cope with all of our power requirements, and do 4wd and will plot everything. The charge is likely to be ~ £25 per car with Rogue systems significantly subsidsing the event. The dynapack REALLY does take longer to put cars on, regardless of what you may or may not believe - however, Rogue have also volunteered some of their staff to help out and improve changover times. The event would be run in Coventry at Thors site.

Patrick at Rogue is keen to get some Magazine coverage if we go ahead at Thor. I havent tested the water yet although I think it would make quite a good article. I am meeting with Patrick at Thor Racing this Saturday to discuss the details, however we need to make a decision on which site everybody wants to attend. I am discounting Geoff due to the small dyno.

1. Noble Motorsport, Chesterfield.
2. Thor Racing, Coventry.

Votes please!

Neil.

Noble, please!

I want to be able to compare my results with other dynos, and I can't do that because I've never been on a Dynapack dyno.

March should give me enough time to get ready (famous last words), although I don't think the gearbox will be sorted by then, so people will have to stand back when mine's running if you're not keen on wearing gearbox synchros for jewellery. :)

I'd prefer Nobles because it's easier for me to get to but I'd be happy with either - I've done both before (Nobles twice) and am keen to compare plots but I'm planning a trip to Thor to get an SAFCII setup at some point so I'll get plots then anyway....

Not that I mind (MUCH!) but I am missing from the list!@#

Also, we have cap of 15 places, regardless of venue - experience tells me that at least 2 will drop out so we will have 15 confirmed pay in advance places and 3 reserves just to be on the safe side.

Can anybody who isnt 100% sure remove themselves from the list as essentially the event is now full. We just need to decide where to hold it :)

So...

CONFIRMED PLACES (15)
1 Jonno NOBLES
2 Michael EITHER
3 Stevel
4 Hedgehog Dodger EITHER
5 Rowland_W
6 Andy F NOBLES
7 Dino NOBLES

Hate to rock the boat.....But what about Top Gear at Doncaster? They have a 1000bhp 4wd roller. Would imagine be cheaper and no limit to number of cars. If not,

what about Top Gear at Doncaster?

I think one of the factors in people wanting to go back to Nobles is that they have previous dyno plots from there and want a meaningful comparison. Certainly thats my reason and I know thats why Dino and Michael want to go back too. I suspect that Mark Powell also is looking for a comparison angle.

Combined with the fact that people complained last year about Nobles being too far North - travelling to Doncaster will send Mike mental!.

Trying to find a location that suits everyone is just not going to happen. Its going to be a compromise - maybe if somebody had expressed a desire to use Top Gear earlier in the week, but as it stands its going to be hard enough to get people to decide with only two choices!.

So far...

Nobles 7
Either 2
Thor 3
Yet to Vote 3

Which means that Nobles seems to be the chosen destination, unless people change their minds. Lets leave the vote open until Sunday morning at about 10am by which time I can be bothered to collate everything, post Andy F's dyno results, pictures of my car with new Border Bonnet, my dyno results, pictures of Andy F's engine, pictures of Shafs "mini-meet" in Derby and anything else I have missed!.
