I think Mr2Mad has hit the nail the head.
It was very expensive for what it was, he was supposed to be dealing with a specialist which is obviously not the case now and tellling someon to get anothergarage to sort it out is a joke IMO. Is the other "non specialist" garage supposed to replace the incorrect elbow etc?!
Affiliates should sort their own mess out. Someone should of beenb down there, pickjed hi s car up, given him a loan car and had it fixed and returned without further messing. At least everyone reading can see what sort of level of skill and service you can expect.

been fleeced
Both Peter and Myself have spoken, and we are working now to resolve the issues raised.
Hopefully things will get sorted over the next few weeks.
Thanks Steve

Checking oil should be something you do regularly on an older car IMHO, particularly when a mechanic has been mucking around with it. It wouldn't be the first time something wasn't tightened properly!
Sorry to hear of your troubles though.

Theres a 'low oil' light (yellow oil can) on the dash that will come on when engine oil is low. It used to come on after every 1500 miles in my n/a I had a few years ago
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Been Fleeced?
Oil level switch is UK cars (therefore n/a's) only.

Dunno but it's a red light on the turbo, and by then you're fooked.
