Not feeling so bad today though still gutted ( been an sat in it for an hour ) and i've decided i'll be back better and faster though it all depends on the assesor and insurance. Got a lot of things running through my mind for the future.
On the accident i think if the Armco had been 6 inchs lower i'd only be looking at a new nose as it went under the Armco and hit the upright which did the most damage and spun it around so the back hit. If it was lower there would be no rear damage an the front would have just slid along the Armco. You can see the upright imprint on the first of these pics and how far under the armco it went....

one of the back.

I've already got my own mechanic sussing out what can be done

Thanks Harry, a phoenix from the ashes would be nice, just waiting on the engineer to come out and asses it so I can figure what’s next.

As every one else has said,
I am gutted for ya.
Glad to know you are ok and will be staying in the MR2 fold, I have enjoyed watching your car's progress and have thought you make a valuable addition to the MR2 community. Hang in there and just think how you can now make your next project better!

UPDATE.....
Well the insurance has said its a right off and paid out. Thank god I had an agreed value and like for like cover and an agreement that I could buy it back, so that’s what I’ve done. As soon as the checks cleared a new Tubby will be sitting on the drive and I’ll be taking the best bits of both to make a better car and selling off what I don't need to put some power into the new project. Said I’d be back better and faster ;)
Thanks for all the messages and emails from people, they helped a lot.
Catch you on the black stuff soon :D

Only just seen this thread... very sorry to see this Dave, I think gutted is a very understated word - I know exactly how it feels.

But great to hear you're getting things sorted, looking forward to the new project and the new love of your life  :thumleft:

Now for my good news

Just brought Dave81 Tubby. Over the next year i'll be picking the best bits of both cars to make my new one, hopefully taking the engine out of the black one, rebuilding it up, putting it in the new one along with some other bits and selling off what im not going to use.

I'm quite excited at the thought of it all :lol

so im going from this.....

Adding this.....

And hopefully ending up with something like this but with Toms nose and maybe a Toms rear and near the engine output that i was aiming for...
