[Mk2] [Generic] Knocking from steering

Hi everyone,
I am getting a strange knocking noise when turning left or right, as i turn the wheel to full lock there will be five or six knocks. Steering is still fine though so probably not steering rack. Could this possibly be a problem with the power steering electric pump? Hope you can help and sorry for not being able to go into alot of detail. Craig

Is it a deep sprung knock ?? like a dunk rather than a click and is it clearly from one side rather than just in the car

Hi, yeah it is more of a dunk sound, and it comes from the left hand side, when turing left and bringing the steering back to centre. Any ideas? Craig

I reckon a siezed left hand side strut top mount to be honest.
