[Mk2] [Turbo] CT26 50 Trim Turbo Upgrade VS CT20

Post by MR-TOYOTA »

Hello,

I have now an CT26, but that one is not so good anymore.

I'm looking for an other turbo.

I saw this one: CT26 50 Trim Turbo (cost around 500-550 euro)
Or an second hand CT20 (cost around 800 euro)

Can anybody tell which is better, easy to install and stronger.

Thanks very much!!

You should be able to find ct20b turbo cheaper than 800 euros. One sold here the other week for $200nzd  They cost $2000nzd new from Toyota.

Far better turbo than an upgraded ct26, run less boost, make more power, much more linear throttle and less lag than an upgraded ct26. Don't believe the 350+BHP hype, unless you want a full rebuild with forged pistons and run 23psi plus, you aren't gonna see anywhere near their claimed figures.

Friend of mine runs a standard ct20b on his gen3 engined 1990 turbo mr2. Stock 540cc injectors, walbro pump, ss autochrome i/c, k&n pod, aussie dp & 3" custom exhaust, Link Plus ecu, 15psi. 291rwhp on 95ron pump gas. It makes over 1psi by 1500rpm.
