Spare helmets put to one side with ours.

It's been dry-ish up this way since Saturday. It looks like it's going to remain dry this evening too. There are a few clouds about, but not really threatening... (famous last words etc...)

Si, the N/A will be a laugh. we tend to find we are slightly quicker in the N/Ail because we don't really treat it with as much respect as the SC. Also the SC is Jo's daily drive (when it's not on axle stands).

awesome, cheers garrick!
in my opinion too, the n/a would probably be easier to drive harder on track due to it liking being revved high, i found in my old s/c it ran out of puff at the top end so i never really took it that high ever.. in the n/a also you know you have to drive it hard out just to make enough power to move

What he said :)

Been looking quite dark and threatening here in Warrington, but the forecast is for it to stay dry.

Best go get the car ready I suppose...

Why not put the SC's wheels on the NA?

Shame your sc's not going to make it either, esp as i think donny will suit more power rather than the agile underpowered NA's :(

redline here we come......

Actually, it's not that bad in an NA - we've done it with both the old slug, and with the supernail, and although the nail was certainly quicker, the slug did pretty good - it was wet though.

IIRC, Anna overtook MattJ in his challenge car

Nice to meet you all again guys! had a really good night, despite the return of our over heating problem on only our 3rd session, thanks Skin for frying her to death! lol, thanks to Garrick for patiently bleeding the system again, and for whoever we borrowed the pipes from!

Was very impressed with the handling of the car with the new springs and gas dampers fitted, and the new MARANGONI tyres were very grippy, and stood up well to the abuse, although either the pressures or the camber adjustment left the car feeling a little understeery.

So it's back to the drawing board now, with the overheating, waterpump or headgasket.

Sorry we couldnt make it for food and decided to shoot off, just as well we did as it overheated again on the A50, heaters suddenly went cold and the temp shot up! an hours journey took us two hours

Got lots of photos which we will put up somewhere, and me and Skinthespin will be writing a few words for the next issue of MR2 Only mag to accompany a few action shots of us all this evening.

See you next time although it might be in a Mk2 as Im losing faith! :thumleft:

awesome session tonight, thanks to jo/garrick for lending the helmet, much appreciated :)
definately found it interesting in the rx7, really really fun, but thanks to the pants tyres i just hit bags of understeer at every corner, with exception of a few corners... i think if i had decent rubber the car would have been a monster! anyway thanks also to si for showing me how N/A's should be driven...mad!

awesome night all around, now need to fix my exhaust....

Just got back :)

Excellent evening, too tired and fingers too numb to write much now!

Thanks to Jo and Garrick for their very kind offer to put me up overnight, but I do really need to be in work tomorrow :)

Brilliant photos Mart, will try and post ours up this evening, got some good ones of you guys on the Melbourne loop, particularly good action shot of you and a good one of Jo and Garrick! :thumleft:

Yes Anna, alls I could think of when we were standing in a lay by in the rain on the A50 waiting for the over heating pile of poo to cool down again was that we were missing out on a good curry! #-o

wow - i really enjoyed my fisrt Donny track action.

we were really lucky to get the full GP circuit, as its usually only for competitions etc.

The NA did us proud, and was great thrashing it roung the circuit. the new brake set up was perfect (yellow stuuf on front, red stuff on rear, std discs) with no fade at all. just the tyres giving way under braking when they were hot.

Thanks for the passenger laps Jo, top stuff :thumleft:

Was a great night. Anna has a picture of curryage on her phone, I guess I'll upload it tonight, but it was a fantastic turnout, given it was a tuesday evening

Great Evening

Post by cyrodill »

Damn, damn, damn! I was quite happy driving my MR2 round Britain's roads until Martin introduced me to a track day. After a few laps I was thinking I could do this. After a few more laps I was thinking I NEED to do this! Come on lottery. Anyway it was great to meet you all and I hope to see you again some time. :D
