will these be ok on my mr2? i know the 235 front may be a prob.

Front Alloys: 8J x 35H / 17
Rear Alloys: 9J x 38L / 17
Front Tyres: 235/40/17
Rear Tyres: 265/45/17

Depends on what suspension you have and how lowered you are. In either case you'd be better on 35 profile. Don't think those fronts will fit but not 100% - you'll probably need to do some arch work for full lock.

Skinthespin has just tried something similar with 8.5 and 9.5" wheels and decided on 225/35 front and 265/40, but is thinking about 255/40 to balance it out better.

prob have to alter the tyres then i take it the offsets should be fine then, does anyone know what the H and L mean on the offests. I have standard suspension by the way.

Offsets should be fine.

Pretty sure with standard suspension you won't get those front tyres under the spring plate. If the tyres are already on the wheels then obviously do a test fit before you change anything.
