[Mk2] [NA] Question re my Auto box please...

Post by xpeterpx »

This is my first auto box and not sure if this is normal or if I should have this investigated..
When driving in normal speed and I put my foot down hard to accelerate it takes a second or two for this register & kick in but accelerates well once it does.
Is it possible for an auto box to 'slip' and (apologies for the vague description) does this sound relatively normal..?I think also the revs went quite high before the shifting kicked in>>>
Transmission fluid seems ok.

Thanks
Peter

This is normal, its just applying the kick down and dropping the gears, nothing to worry about and is typical slush box characteristics :thumleft:

Hi mate, I've got a rev 3 g-ltd auto, and mine does pretty much the same, takes a bit of getting used to but i love it now. as for the revs being quite high, have you tried playing with the power button, just to the right of the stick, this holds the revs longer before changing, if you have the Overdrive on and the power button down, the car will redline before changing in each gear. I would also think about changing the gearbox oil, I did this when I first bought mine and it made a load of difference.
Enjoy
Steve
